All are still working in Hollywood, and for the most part they have stayed out of the tabloids. What else do you want subby?

They may not have gone on to be Oscar-winners, but they all look pretty good.

"[Molly Ringwald] played the rich princess role of Claire Standish before, in the 90s, controversially turning down the female lead roles in  Pretty Woman and  Ghost. "

Now there's a career that could have gone differently.

Molly Ringwald still looks great.

Mike Chewbacca: It's a great movie for its time, but it doesn't hold up well in the modern high school era. I mean, Brian brought a flair gun to school to kill himself and the school responds by having him serve one Saturday school detention? Nowadays, he'd be (rightly) put in a psychiatric hold for a while until they're sure he's no longer a threat to himself and/or others.
gunned down by a barrage of bullets from the local swat team

DMZ DEATH: I read a quote recently that was so true. If that movie took place today, the kids would have their noses stuck in their Iphones and never would have talked to each other.

Eh, the movie was never realistic anyway. I like the movie, but I never thought for one second a real Saturday school detention would play out that way.

much like seinfeld would've played out much differently with cell phones. elaine did have a cell in the later years, but it was still an era where making a cellphone call was improper ettiquette for important calls.

frepnog: mjbok: frepnog: add that to the fact that the film is so farking WHITEWASHED that it is ridiculous.

How is it ridiculous?  At the time the movie came out I was in high school and there were two African Americans in a school of about 1200.

in every school in America?  Come on.  Those darkies sure went to school SOMEWHERE in the 80's.

In the film, even the damn JANITOR was white.  I live in bumfark AL, graduated high school in 1990 at a predominately white high school in a predominantly white area in collard field, AL and even our janitor was a black fella.

Alabama ain't the midwest, boy.

/grew up in Wisconsin
//demographics matched the movie for the 80s

I think his point was "these days, it would be considered sexual assault at our extremely uptight zero policy schools."

Ah. That makes sense.

Englebert Slaptyback: Target Builder

Englebert Slaptyback: What sexual assault would that be? Bender/Judd Nelson was the one under Claire/Molly Ringwald's desk. The athlete (Estevez) was sitting next to her.

Wasn't he in detention for duct taping some kids ass in the locker room?

I didn't read any sexual angle into that...

Well - except for the sexual assault by the star athlete.

"not a lot of good..."?
really?
side-by-side comparisons of actors and themselves 28 years younger...they all aged...some seem to have aged about 28 years, some seem to have aged slightly less...none are disfigured from horrid plastic surgeries...as far as i know none of them have fallen on hard times in the last 28 years...what's the "not a lot of good"?

Englebert Slaptyback: Also, the list author is a loser for not including Principal Vernon.

TigerzDad: interestingly, the kids' offenses in the movie would result in arrests, expulsion, and maybe even jail now.

Get off my lawn!

Well - except for the sexual assault by the star athlete. In that case the victims family would have been hounded out of town by people angry with him for ruining the schools name by having the temerity to report it.

Emilio Estevez REALLY looks like his dad. Well, the way his dad used to look.

It's a great message that movie sends, change who you are and how you look so the popular boy will like you.

Everyone always raved about Molly but I always thought Ally was the hotter one.  The scene where she draws the covered bridge and then uses her dandruff to make it snow is awesome.

I don't care what Subby things. Anthony Michael Hall was great in "The Dead Zone" and hilarious in "Awkward".
