Bad call; he didn't have it under control before he went out of the end zone.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure if that was strictly pro rules or not.

He looked like he brought it in completely when he his back hit the ground, which is before exiting the end zone.  Seems like a good call...

/amazing catch regardless

What are you smoking?  His second had secures the ball before he even hits the ground, when he does hit the ground he's a yard inside the end zone.

Doesn't lose possession the entire slide, stands up with ball secured.

That's a text book good "going to the ground" catch in the NFL much less NCAA.

Okay upon embigging the slo mo I see where you think he didn't have control, but look closely.  His hands and the ball don't move, his shoulder pads "bounce" the ball stays still.  The perspective throws it off a bit.
It's a solid catch.

Even better considering the context.  That's a clutch catch.

/Against Temple, though, which pretty much devalues UCF's entire season.

That was a crazier play, but the catch was nowhere as good. The guy turned his head and the ball fell in his lap.

It also wasn't so much due to the skill of the quarterback OR the receiver.  The ball wasn't catchable by the intended target until after the defender bobbled it up and over the receiver.

It was an amazing play, but due to sheer luck.  The UCF guy made a crazy skilled catch.

Shame the game was at Temple, meaning we're not sure if it even happened since nobody was around to see it.

Yeah this, again our defensive coaches dont give proper instructions to DBs by telling them its farking 4th down just knock any ball thrown into the ground and for gods sake dont try and catch it!

Thats how most desperation throws wind up being caught.

Headline: Close the voting and count the ballots. Central Florida's J.J. Worton just made the college football catch of the year

Well, if we're just going to crown it, why bother counting the ballots?

Article: The Knights were trailing the 1-8 Temple Owls 36-29 when Blake Bortles found Worton wide open for the 30-yard score with 1:06 remaining.

Where's that farker who wouldn't acknowledge an awesome catch a week or two ago because there should be no praising for badly thrown passes? If the receiver was wide open then a circus catch shouldn't be needed, right farker-from-that-other-thread?

/awesome catch
