Good thing about that Dustbuster.

Won't be the same without Chapman.

Well they should probably not doing anything again ever then. Can't believe they just go on like this like the guy never existed. It's only been 25 years, the funeral was basically yesterday.

Of course it won't be the same, has the group ever said anything otherwise in the last 2 decades? In the dozens and dozens of times they've lamented and reminisced about losing him?

Shut up. The group still performing is a better memorial to him than anything could be.

Chapman should be included, for he urned a spot.

"They" can do anything they want.

You have fun with that 'nothing will ever be the same' morose nostalgic bs. The rest of us will enjoy more Python.

And now for something completely different.

Monty Python members have agreed to work together once more....

Yeah, and then they'll change their minds and won't do it - like they have about half a dozen times before.

/Why do I have a feeling this wouldn't be an issue if John Cleese had done a prenup.

Chapman's passed on! This comedian is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! His metabolic processes are now history! He's off the twig! He's kicked the bucket, He's shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain, and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile! THIS IS AN EX-COMEDIAN!

Good!  For many reasons, but my biggest reason is that I haven't liked a single big screen comedy ... probably since the first Hangover.  There have been several funny tv shows, but movies???  I've either missed them (despite trying like hell), or there's been a serious dry spell in the comedy genre.

Bad idea. They lost their mojo decades ago. Purely a money grab which will tarnish their reputation.

2013-11-19 09:38:15 AM
Best news ever. If they decide to do a movie, I'd love to see a sequel to Fish Called Wanda and Fierce Creatures, always felt it should have been a trilogy with all living Pythons taking part.
Anyone else here prefer Fierce Creatures over Fish???

Fish has a better storyline and running jokes.

Fierce Creatures has more sight gags and one-liners. But the plot setup is gimmicky.

I don't see it as a total money grab.  Sure, they all want/need paid (some more than others).  I see it more as a group of guys who were once good friends, created something magical, and now are approaching their own shuffle off this mortal coil.  Maybe I'm just being a sentimental old fool, but maybe it's just a grand way of saying "let's not die hating each other".

He's actually about to change careers again.  Apparently, he burnt out on the travel doc thing a decade ago, so he's going back to acting in a WWI drama on the BBC.

I actually think Terry Jones has moved on the furthest; he went back to school, finished his doctorate and now presents history documentaries, mostly on the Middle Ages, which is his field.  His last one, on 15th century roads through Wales was a lot more interesting than it sound.

A prenup might have prevented nothing. Boris Becker had a prenup and his wife ran off to Florida and got a court to declare a German prenup void.

Also, the UK doesn't recognize prenups, so he'd have to renounce his citizenship to make one stick.

In life of Brian and Holy Grail, Chapman played the lead and played it straight with few secondary characters.  So how about a non-python take over the lead role.  Jones would still direct, Gilliam would do the animations, Idle would do original tunes, Cleese and Palin would write the banter, and they'd all write the story.  That's pretty Pythony, right.  So who takes over the lead/straight role?   My suggestion is... David Bowie.

He can act,  He's older, like they are.  He has a very dry British wit.  Hell, I think the Pythons might even know him... they all had their heydays at the same time, so maybe.

Don't dismiss the idea too quickly.  The more you think about it the more appealing it is.
