This is sad. My kids love Junie B. I was looking forward to seeing her grow up - especially the teenage years.

I used to read Junie books to my son and he would always wonder wtf I was laughing at. Lots of grown-up jokes in those books.

Smelly McUgly: Skinnybones!

Came for this, thanks. I still remember my 3rd grade teacher having to have a student read the part about the cat barfing in the kid's shoe beacuse she was laughing so hard she was crying.

Loved reading these books to my kids. Like the poster mentioned earlier - more adult humor in the series - fun books to read.

The only worse dialog, or lamer characters I've run across were in Ayn Rand. There are dozens of better children's books to be had. Not a troll attempt. I honestly don't give a fark if anyone responds or not.

Well, write one your own dang self, smart guy!  Show them, show them all how it's done, and have the last laugh!  I TRIPLE-DOG DARE YA!

Agreed. The illiterate writing was ridiculous, especially in schools.
