It makes sense

When she died, I remember thinking that no healthy 32 year old dies from mold

Then her husband died

Follow the money.

She was cute as fark.  But as much as I want to believe this article, the author cites Wikipedia as a source.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Both Murphy and her husband die within a year of each other of anemia and pneumonia?  How is that not suspicious?  They were young.

But it does seem bizarre that they would be the targets of hitmen.  I don't know what the husband had going on, but she doesn't seem like any kind of threat.

Oh, and I will also say she had a great singing voice - anyone listen to her on Paul Oakenfold's "Faster Kill Pussycat"?

Interesting how her father had to fight to keep the untested hair samples from being destroyed.

Let me add my voice to the "it always look suspicious to me" chorus.

It's one thing when a young, apparently healthy young woman keels over for no real reason, but when her husband died in exactly the same way within a year? I actually suspected him until he kicked it.

Yeah, not sure what's up, but it's a weird enough situation, that it's hard to believe they both died in the same house of the same thing.

I don't know.... This whole 'mold' thing is mostly a scam, but my allergies seem to be worse not when things bloom, but when the weather is wet, nothing major, but it makes me wonder if maybe there is something to it after all. Some people being more sensitive/allergic to it?

I have the same impression. I don't remember it killing people until the past decade. Surely mold has been around all along?

Well, that isn't always a disqualifier, it could have been something that they just called "unknown" before that...

The company my wife used to work for did structural and environmental testing, they'd test concrete in baseball stadiums, asphalt on roads, etc. They did some mold testing too, and she said that they ARE legitimate cases out there, but that a large portion is people trying to scam you, it's why her company didn't do it very often...

Interesting fact: once a house gets "labeled" as having mold, it sticks with the house forever, and has to be declared when it gets sold. So even if you actual find mold or have a water leak, you should clean it yourself, rather than go through the insurance and have that crap follow you around....

Something starting to be diagnosed doesn't imply that is when people started dying from it, previous deaths could well have been listed as something that looks similar in autopsy (or whatever was used to determine cause of death).

The article also mentions that the Mom inherited the money.  And weirdly was still living in the house with the son-in-law when he died.  I really hope somebody does an investigation.  Yes, she might have been anorexic but the fact the husband dies of the same thing makes it too coincidental.

From Her IMDB page:

She comes from a long line of international musicians and performers. Angelo Bertolotti was torn from their tight-knit family as a made-man with the Italian Mafia. The Senior Bertolotti, who coined the nickname of "Britt" for his daughter, was also an entrepreneur and diplomat for organized crime families and one of the first to be subjected to a RICO prosecution.

Are people adding crap to the her page, anybody knowledgeable in Mafia lore?

I doubt her mom or another amateur is sophisticated enough  pull this off.   Sounds like someone took out some loans to some people you shouldn't take loans from, probably the husband.  They go for a family member first to get the debtor to pay up, and then off him when it becomes apparent he's not going to make good.   Judging by his wiki page he's been involved in credit card fraud and had several houses foreclosed on, so he sounds like bad news.

Loansharks / mafia tend to be a bit more blatant with their tactics.  Heavy metal poisoning takes a long time and requires proximity.  If they  were poisoned (and not just both taking the same drugs), then they must have been poisoned by someone who had access to their food/drink/immediate surroundings for an extended period of time.
