skinink: Seemed like after it came out copycat movies were produced to get the Tarantino feel.

Studio: OK, do the same thing Tarantino did, but put obnoxious cockney accents everywhere!!!

Guy Ritchie: Righto, guv'nah!

And what about when Travolta was buying heroin from Stoltz? That scene was taken directly from Taxi Driver when Deniro is buying pistols.

rocinante721: I'd like to point our that a $5 shake is fairly reasonable these days.

And even when the movie was released 20 years ago, while that was pretty high for a milkshake, it wasn't exactly the insane extravagance Vincent seems to say it is -- I would say that at most restuarants, a good shake would be around $3 or so.  I've always thought that Tarantino was intentionally making the movie anachronistic, so it doesn't fit in any specific year.  For example, when Vince calls Lance just before he brings in an OD'ing Mia, Lance is eating a bowl of Frute Brute, which hadn't been on the market for well over a decade before that movie was made.  I could try to find more examples but I'm as tired of writing this as I'm sure you are of reading it, so I'm gonna go do something else now.

12. John Travolta was known for his dance moves prior to Pulp Fiction with his roles in Saturday Night Fever and Grease, but his dance number with Uma Thurman at Jack Rabbit Slims was inspired by the films Bande à Part and Federico Fellini's 8 1/2.

Wasn't it the Batusi?

Dingleberry Dickwad: Lucksbane: Really?  Felt the need to explain the "secret meaning" behind "Amos and Andy" and "Martin and Lewis"?  Good lord.

I won't lie, I never knew what it meant until reading TFA.

Just curious, and I'm not being facetious, but have you not heard of "Amos and Andy" and/or "Martin and Lewis"?  Sometimes I don't think I'm that old, but then reality hits me in the mouth.

9. When Mia Wallace orders her $5 shake at Jack Rabbit Slims, the waiter (Steve Buscemi) asks her if she wants it "Martin and Lewis or Amos and Andy?" He's referring to the comedy duo of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, two white guys and The Amos n' Andy Show, two black guys. Basically, he's asking her if she'd like chocolate or vanilla. What gives, no Pryor and Wilder shake?

Because it was a 1950s-themed restaurant, you knob; a reference to Richard Pryor or Gene Wilder wouldn't make sense. She'd have to order a Sinatra and Sammy Davis (or a Lena Horne).

The couple later divorced, but Hibbert went on to work as a writer for Mad TV and Boy Meets World. It's nice to know the Gimp finally got out of the sex dungeon and turned his life around.

He later became a doctor and moved to Springfield.
