The technology for impregnating 70 year olds has apparently been acquired.

Now if only we could figure out how to abort Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

About time, too.

Obama got my grandmother pregnant.

Q:  What did Elisabeth Hasselbeck say when the doctor told her she was pregnant?

A:  "Oh my god!  Is it mine?"

bdub77: The technology for impregnating 70 year olds has apparently been acquired.

What?

Woman has a child at 20 years old.  Her child has a child at 20 years old.  Woman is 40, and a grandmother, and still capable of getting pregnant for a number of years.

In some communities, 30 year old grandmothers aren't unheard of, and you could theoretically have fertile great-grandmothers:

A has child B at 15, B has child C at 15, C has child D at 15, when A is only 45 years old.

FTA:

Fox News host Elisabeth Hasselbeck suggested on Monday that pregnant women 65-years-old and older were losing their doctors because of President Barack Obama health care reform law.

Also pro tip, don't have a kid at 20 and especially not at 15. Sincerely, the World.

When they're that old, they cease being "Cougars" so don't try to justify your granny fetish.

Yeah, she didn't say that... FTFA

"That leaves hundreds of thousands of patients without the doctor that they've had for many many years," Varney added. "We don't know how many thousands have been dropped, but thousands have been dropped. What about their patients? What about the people who used to have this doctor who now no longer have this doctor? Broken promise."
"And many of those people are women who are expecting babies and who may just have a real relationship with their physician and want to see the same doctor deliver possibly their second child," Hasselbeck opined. "And they are now left in the dark in a time that they feeling quite vulnerable."
"Most of them are elderly," Varney pointed out.

1.  Hasselback didn't mention anything about the elderly.

2.  In context, Varney is clearly referring to "the many thousands who have been dropped" as being elderly, not the pregnant women Hasselback singled out for her point.

You Obamacare sycophants are going to have to do a lot better than that to win back your credibility...

You can get Medicare if you are on disability at any age.  I'm not sure if Medicare Advantage plans cover that population, though I think they do.  Regardless, Hasselbeck simply went for a sympathetic group of victims and didn't think through what she was actually saying.

Also, I should add, she probably doesn't know the difference between Medicare, which is primarily for the elderly but also covers the disabled, and Medicaid, which covers a shiat-ton of pregnant women.

I think you might want to consider the flaws in Hasselback's arguments before you begin attacking anyone. You realize you are defending points based on "creation of a false image that is your enemy" then attacking it, right?

I don't want anyone to lose their healthcare provider--but most of the policies that were cancelled weren't worth the paper they were written on.

No, he's right. After all the left's lies about death panels, government takeover of health care, "we have to pass it to see what's in it", and dishonest comparisons to England's NHS, you can't blame people for not taking them seriously.

Can anyone justify the fact that Medicare Advantage was paying insurers more per patient to cover individuals so they could get a card that said United Healthcare instead of Medicare Part B, and that scaling back the difference in payments until they are comparable is a terrible policy decision (meaning Advantage plans might become less attractive once HHS stopped paying a premium to put them into private coverage)?

2013-11-18 01:32:34 PM
I want to pay for the pregnancy of a 70 year old as much as a Tea Partier wants to pay for the SNAP of poors and immigrants. The difference being I suppose is I wont cry myself to sleep or hate the world if someone uses benefits available to them for either.

He was speaking on benefits lost by Humana Gold members, a plan made for people with Medicare to sign over to. The majority of people on Medicare are over 65 and the disabled. So did the words fall out of her chew hole 'old people are going to lose their OB doctors in the midst of a pregnancy!"? No. But by context, and here's where we lose a lot of people on the right when understanding things in context, she did indeed say that.

This almost as dumb Obama's requirment that post menapausal women who ,must purchase a health plan that covers matternity leave.

A story about a corrupt insurance system and the attempt to cure it.

There must be a rhetorical classification for arguing the cure caused the disease.

Is it a requirement that post-menopausal women must purchase coverage of maternity leave, or is it a requirement that all policies cover all medical procedures related to childbirth so that young women are not being charged higher rates over the fact that they can get pregnant and may require seeing a doctor for things like pre-natal exams?

We aren't talking about literal grandmothers, of course thats feesible.  We're talking about women on Medicare Advantage plans -- 65+ year old people who have been kicked onto the Medicare rolls.   Try again?

That's not much of a difficulty.  If anything, it makes the question simpler by removing the need to know anything about Jim Varney - you can answer even if you've never even heard of an Ernest movie.

You mean that you didn't get the form with all the check-boxes indicating what you wanted your insurance to cover? I left "hysterectomy" covered even though I am a man. You can never be too careful.

This falls under the same category as the myth that pre-ACA the only people who decided what you received for health care were you and your doctor.

While true, that 40 year old grandmother still has to wait another 25 years before she is Medicare eligible, which is what the article is talking about.

It's another example of smart conservative "party of ideas" reasoning we hear so much about.

A big neighborhood family that I grew up with, the youngest daughter was the aunt of her sister's son, and he was about 2 years older.

Heck, my cousin's daughter made her a grandmother at 41. I'm sure there was still the chance she could get pregnant.

I expect this kind of stupidity from a man running for congress, not from a woman. How in the world can you be in possession of a uterus and ovaries your entire life and NOT know how menopause works? Does she not have a mother? Was she raised by bears? WTF?
