I for one am glad this game is in Carolina so I don't have to deal with a 3 hour ride home in bumper to bumper traffic from everyone trying to get to the game in addition to the normal bumper to bumper traffic of the evening rush hour.

he's just  a guy that loves to play quarterback in teh National Football League.  This guy, he's what you call a football player.  that's who he is.  that's what he does.  Lotta guys, they might be under center, but they aren't football players.  this guy here, he's probably the best _____ i've ever seen play.  He's what i call a 'foxhole guy'.  when the bullets start flyin', he's the kind of guy you want in your foxhole.  he's not afraid to get a little dirt on the ol' uniform.  he'll getcha 4 yards when you need 1.  He's the kind of guy that'll strap on the ol' bucket and get in there and get his hands dirty.  He's a football player.  Thing about a lotta guys is they're not the guy that will take on a guy like this.  i love that guy.  that guy is a what i call a football player.  Thing is, in the National Football League, you need that kind of guy.

I work in the building right across from BoA Stadium.  I got to work at 7:45 this morning, and some guy had already set up and started tailgating in the parking lot.

I was cheering for the 49ers last night, so I can understand.  I think the two Panthers / Saints games in December are going to be just about the best football of the year.

Yep, and right up there with those will be the upcoming Seahawks-Saints MNF affair.  That's guaranteed to be for the best record in the NFC, plus home-field advantage, and possibly a 1st round bye.

I'm doing something I haven't done in almost five years.

I'm pulling my blue #90 Peppers jersey out of the closet, and wearing it in public.  The last time I did was The Bad Day.  And since that day, our franchise slowly pulled apart the pieces that made it a glorious trainwreck.

Fox is gone.

Hurney and his "mortgage future 1st round picks for magic beans" strategy are gone.

Two-thirds of that roster is gone, including His Interceptedness and The Last Original Panther, Shankapottimus.

Only two players are left from the miracle run of a decade ago - Jordan Gross and Smitty.  And goddamit, I'm going into tonight with hope and optimism that hasn't been there in five years.  This team  can win big games, and they can do a lot tonight to erase the pain of that Super Bowl, and That Other Game.

I'm practically praying that Kuechly and The Kraken rip that o-line apart and tear Brady asunder.

I want to see that defense make Brady go Full Delhomme, and complete the circle.

The Cardiac Cats are back, and it's a wonderful feeling.

Congratulations. I don't have 8 greens lifetime, I settle for heckling people in the threads.

Even with two strong teams this feels like it's going to be a real dog of a game. It seems as though the primetime games have been all year. Even last night's game was kinda anticlimactic. That said, if a Panther could pull a Pollard on the Biebs tonight I'd be OK with that.

'You have a passion Ray.  Misguided though it may be, it is still a passion.  I used to feel that way.'

Can't wait until the Panthers Seahawks have to travel to New Orleans for the NFC Championship Game and get their asses handed to them again.

FTFY.  ;)

FTFthebothofyou.

Gonna be a hell of a race.

Never would have thought before the season that the Panthers would be anywhere near the playoffs, the Niners would be totally out of the NFC West race, the Falcons would be in Top 3 pick territory and the Lions would be leading the NFC North.

Hell, I'm a Saints fan and I thought this was going to be a meh season. New DC and scheme Payton away for a year. OC line coach gone. Various personnel gone. Players gone. Disruptions in the front office for the last year. Over four decades as a Saints fan I have to think positively, or I'll weep openly and conspicuously, and 8-8 seemed like a maybe. I am pleasantly surprised.

I think the AFC is just as loopy too. WTF?

And the Cardinals would be sniffing the wild card, too.

Crazy year.

Or that after starting 0-4 the Giants and Steelers would both be fighting for a playoff spot. Forget the games, this entire year is bees.

I figured Payton's return would put them back in the contending race, I just had no idea Rob would work out so well.  I crossed my fingers and hoped for mediocre, but we got a lot more than that.  No teeth clenching when the D is on the field, it's amazing, lol.
