No idea.  There have been several that I would classify as "good" or "great," and a crap-ton more that were just pathetic. A 3D printer might actually make such things accessible to the average person, which I think would be pretty cool.  I'm not a cosplayer, but I could see myself wanting a good suit of Space Marine Mk VII armor (actually, ideally, MkIV pre-Heresy armor, just for shiats and giggles).

Plus, it would be fun (and infinitely dorky!) to go with friends as a full scout squad and try to reclaim the nearby Renaissance Faire in the name of the Emperor.

They already do 3D printed guitars. There just aren't any good designs for them yet, and the company who does it wants too much for a plastic-bodied guitar.

"Mechanical core of the Buccaneer is produced in Singaporean facilities using computer numerical control systems. "

One wonders why they don't eat their own dog food. Seems pretty Ludditic to use technology from the 1960s.

"We've put all our engineering prowess into it and achieved impeccable precision allowing you to print at a resolution as high as 85 microns per layer."

Per layer, nice weaseling there.

"Nozzle Diameter 0.4mm"

I've got a nozzle and its diameter is more like 60mm. Cuz that's what I feel like doing.

The detailing on that is horrible. Even amateurs know how to dry-brush and black line. Also, some clear coat would prevent it from getting all banged-up looking.

I'm not sure that statement is completely justified.  They might very well be eating their own dog food.  The difference between a CNC machine, a 3D printer and a laser cutting system is the head actuator.  I've seen systems that allow quick and easy swapping the 3D print head/extruder for a laser to do cutting, as an example.

I don't know if they're using the same frame for the printer and the CNC machine, but I wouldn't discount the possibility.  Unless of course the frame they use for the printer isn't robust enough for continuous high levels of production, instead targeted at hobbyists.

Oh, and modern CNC machines are anything but outdated technology from the 60's.

Cheers.

Once we can start printing in metal at good accuracy for reasonable prices I think a LOT of really amazing stuffs going to show up.

Materials are the main challenge, but even aluminum would allow for amazing stuff.  custom made cars, RC, all sorts of wild stuff.  But then add in the ability to print circuitry inside, and I have some awesome ideas.

Currently the main problem for 3D printers is.....they're ALMOST good enough.  Give it a few years and they will be good enough.  And the price is dropping regularly.

I could use one right now.  (Kids broke the dang microwave door handle AGAIN-I'd design a new one thats better)
