NOW can we line every TSA employee up against a wall?

2013-11-18 07:04:09 AM
Wait you mean they are spending millions to check people as they leave the secure area that is cheaper than the cop sitting there to make sure nobody goes the wrong way? Why not just use a one way turnstile like the amusement parks?

When did they start searching beverages you bought inside security? That's insane.

I went through this a couple of weeks ago in Syracuse and it was indeed a clusterfark.

"We need to be vigilant and maintain high security protocol at all times. These portals were designed and approved by TSA which is important," said Syracuse Airport Commissioner Christina Callahan

What a compelling sales pitch for an utterly useless piece of garbage.

"The terrorists blew up the airport, but we caught them when they tried to leave!"

A guy already tried that. They shot him in the face, lauded the TSA as heros, and tried to use it to call for more gun control.

/Not at all upset that someone tried to fight back against the TSA.

Instead of pod exits, just replace us all with Pod People and get it over with.
Just get to the endgame already.

Okay. So, Alex Jones is quite difficult to stomach. But, be grateful that someone is covering this. It's more about the actual story and not AJ.

Sometimes you can learn a lot about a site by it's advertisers.  A lot of people use Brita filters, but not a lot of them use it to remove chemical weapons.

I was through there multiple times last month. They are a pain in the ass. Barely enough room for an adult and a suitcase. Heaven forbid a person is traveling with 2 small children. Thats my biggest biatch. The things are way too damn small.

Your biggest biatch is their size? What about being treated like a caged criminal just because you attempt to travel about?

You don't deserve to be treated like that.

Can't wait until this "breaks down" on Thanksgiving weekend.  Not only will some poor schmuck,no doubt of Arabic descent (imagine that!  what were the odds?), be trapped in a glass prison, but the airport will become completely clogged with angry travelers shaking their tiny fists impotently on Twitter.

I was going to say wait until the fisrt time someone gets seperated from their kid on the other side of one of these things,  and the kid darts off.   A kid geting even a second head start on you in something like an airport with crowds and luggage.

That will be a sweet lawsuit when that kid runs into traffic or gets hit by some sort of baggage cart.

Did you watch the video? These are real. And dumb.

Even the spokesperson for the airport sounded like she didn't know how to justify them, "um, err, safety, I guess".

And how are those things supposed to hold up to 6 people? Maybe if the people were dwarves who didn't have any luggage, like oh, I don't know, PEOPLE WHO ARE LEAVING AN AIRPORT??? The video showed one guy who couldn't get his luggage in before the door closed. This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my life, and I can see no real reason for it other than to make sure people know who's in charge.

How is those any different than these? If you step in the restricted area, the doors lock.

2013-11-18 09:34:52 AM
What is the criteria for the pod opening after you are inside?  Is there a sniffer inside?  Is there a guy in India looking at your image and deciding if he just doesn't like your face?  Is a computer reading the RFID in your passport, or bouncing your image off of an image-recognition database?  Who do I even ask?

That's just the liquids in carry on luggage. Stuff you bought at Starbucks inside security hasn't been looked at that I have ever heard before.

In Vegas my wife and I ended up involved in a random drink search while sitting at the gate.  They came in, lined everyone up, and checked all drinks.  It was weird.

PC LOAD LETTER: Are these standard Man Traps they use in datacenters? Saw the pic, refuse to read Infowars.

Yes

Door opens, step in, door closes, outside door opens, step out.

If motion is detected after the outside door closes and before the inside door opens again, it locks tight to prevent pass through in the wrong direction.

There is really nothing to see here.

Nutty as infowars gets (and god knows it does), I'm not hearing anyone denying the facts in the article.  At least can we admit that the this is the time of day where the stopped clock is right?

I thought rightwingers only supported the wholesale death of uneducated, impoverished Americans when we put them into military uniforms and set them to work on securing the economic interests of our elected officials' campaign donors.

Note: thinking the TSA is an ineffective boondoggle that's bound to fail doesn't mean the incompetent assholes in the TSA should be killed, merely out of work until McDonalds starts a hiring drive.
