(NFL)   Redskins lineman upset that referee called him a "garbage ass disrespectful motherfarker." I would be mad, but he's right. Their line is garbage   (nfl.com) divider line 78

Rebuilding year! They'll be 10-6 next year and in the playoffs! All 22 starters are coming back next year! No, that's a good thing. Hey, where are you going?

That was a Favrean pass by RG3 there at the end.

Very nice.

2013-11-18 08:35:56 AM
Ha hah.

Nick Foles led RG3 in several important categories: completion yards, touchdown passes, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns.

RG3 led NF in the two most important: INTs and lost fumbles.

Missing from this conversation is what this lineman said/did right before being called that.

Probably acted like a garbage-ass disrespectful motherfarker.

Good on the official for telling it like it is.

Is being a whiny ass little biatch and complaining to the media about the mean words being said to him also part of a lineman's job requirement?

Football refereeing is the ultimate alpha male sport officiating. It's for the toughest and strongest, both physically and mentally. These men live by a warrior's code, something you probably cannot begin to understand.

As early as 3 weeks ago lineman had reputations of being big, tough and smart people. Now they get sensitive if their panties don't have flowers on them. What the fark has happened to the big boys?

I think context is everything.

If the player in question was playing dirty but the ref couldn't or wouldn't call a penalty, then yeah it's okay for the ref to let the player know he knows what the player is up to. "I'm watching you" in a sense.

If the player tried to intimidate the ref, then it's okay for the ref to let the player know he's not intimidated in language and timber that the player would understand immediately.

The coaches swear, the players swear, the players scream at refs and demand flags be thrown. And have you listened to the fans' cheers lately?

I'm sorry that discourse has sunk to the levels it has in this country but the ref has every right to let players know they're full of shiat in language appropriate to the situation. YMMV.

2013-11-18 09:42:46 AM
Isn't that the same guy who punched Richard Sherman in the "mouf"?  Williams seems to have a bit of a short fuse.  I would imagine he had been yelling at the ump all day, and the ump (possibly) had enough of it.

I say good for the refs, if that's what they said/did.  They get abused by the players routinely, and they also have gotten very gun shy in terms of ejecting players.

I'm feeling this, too.  And it's better for Williams that the ref insulted him rather than throwing a flag.

2013-11-18 10:18:40 AM
First, so farking what.  B. I am sure the linesman just decided out of the blue to use that line to the first person he saw, and nothing Williams did or had been doing all game played a part in the comment.  Lastly,  maybe the linesman had a sudden bout with tourettes?

No. He should recognize that the ref was stating the obvious. Then he should go back to his thankless job of making the backs look like they're the important ones

I'm not a fan, but when Im heading out of the city at 6:30am, there isn't much else to listen to aside from them, NRP, and 99.1. Once I'm on the beltway I usually switch over to 105.7 and listen to them cry as well. It's really a bad time for life if you're only 2 sports stations are out of Baltimore and DC.

Why, Ravens?! Why you no win?!

I'm attributing this trend to whatever the latest variant of untraceable HGH supplement is being used right now.  If I'm not mistaken, I think it's called Midolerone.  South Park did an episode on it years ago, before the drug was in wider use.  Stan grew vagina-like lesions all over his body, and if left untreated, would have turned him into one giant pussy.

I wouldn't call them adults, but I was really enjoying Czabe and Cooley before I moved to Chicago in August. So much I've even downloaded a couple episodes here and there, mostly to hear Cooley's take on the Incognito situation as one of the few football players that seemed to be more than just a meathead in his career and willing to give actual answers instead of empty "football speak".

Tried reading the Fan Forum today, it is a miserable place.

Griff is a 2nd year QB(Notoriously rough year for MOST QBs) that spent his offseason recovering from reconstructive surgery. He's on pace for over 4,300 Passing Yards & 500 rushing yards with 20+ TDs while operating an offense that does very little to play to it's personnel's strengths in the passing game(i.e running vertical routes on short dropbacks with an interior line that can't block, and not using the rollouts/bootlegsand moving pocket that won Shanahan 2 Super Bowls and an AFC Title appearance with Jake Goddamn Plummer)

Yet all I see from the fanbase and our delightly racist old HoF Sonny Jurgensen is SUBWAY COMMERCIALS!!!!! PUT IN COUSINS! RGIII IS A PRIMADONNA BECAUSE HE ANSWERS QUESTIONS HONESTLY! instead of appreciating that even with the losses, he's having a decent season on a terrible team.

Andrew Luck is still averaging less than 60% passing while throwing less this year and with a better passing attack(Pre-Wayne's Injury) and Tom Brady is having a terrible year(57%). Good QBs struggle sometimes, even when they're winning.

only one number means anything: $18 million   the amount of the Salary cap that Goddell and Mara stole from the 'Skins as punishment for not violating federal law during the last Player's strike.  as long as RGIII survive this year  I have nor worries about this team.   And, as a plus, tickets for the Skins-Chiefs game my wife wanted to go to are now gonna be dirt cheap
