What do they expect Judd to do to offset high utility bills?  Drive a taxi?

I think I just found the plot to the next SyFy masterpiece

Yeah, what the hell is with that quote? Over-emoting much? Is she hoping Hirsch will be so impressed he finds her a role in summer stock?

I've been looking for a specific quote to ridicule, but I always end up with around 70% of the whole article on my clipboard.

A 180 foot tall wind turbine is an eyesore, so I can understand why they'd be upset (except for Mrs. Gillman, who sounds like a nut. I suggest that Judd put up a 180 foot semi-nude statue of Marilu Henner instead, with a set of turbine blades attached to a pair of pasties. Everyone wins - including Mrs. Gillman's young son.

"Once you put it up, you can't take it back."

Uhhhhh....  Yes, yes you can.  Do do realize you can take down/demolish man made structures, right?

I actually do have sympathy for people who have neighbors building excessive structures.  Went through this 18ish years ago when a neighbor was trying to build a cell tower in his backyard (residential neighborhood, no zoning against it at the time).  But I have ZERO sympathy for drama whores, idiots, and liars.  If you can't make your argument without being full of shiat then you have no argument to make.

Wow. Just... Wow. Do they think that the windmill will curse them? Does the windmill have an artillery piece attached to it? Is it going to rain hellfire on them? No? Then STFU!

OK, no wind turbine? No problem. We'll just put a coal-fired plant here right next to your property. You like that better, right? None of those ugly spinning blades, just beautiful, beautiful coal, and the smog it produces.

Is it? Assuming that the area is mostly covered with trees, you'd have to be pretty close to see it at all - nearest neighbor is 500yds away. And of the article is correct about the 43dB, it'll be silent, too.

Judd Hirsh? What are you doing?

Uhh...building a windturbine?

2013-11-18 07:31:25 AM
I'm calling attention whore. Why not make two smaller ones? Do they have to stick out above the tree line? On a 96 acre estate, you can't find a discrete place for your turbine? Your windmill is so important, you're going to force it on your neighbors and alienate them?

Just because the neighbors are morons doesn't mean Hirsch isn't an asshole.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Who builds a 132,000 dollar structure in order to "cut their electric bill to zero" in a private residence? How much weed is he growing?

We just had a blade fall off one of these giants in Western NY. Just missed a guys house.
I think it was too windy.

Fark Yeah! Why build 1, when MOAR is better. Why not 100, and supply the whole town? What a selfish JERK.

I'm thousands of miles from this, but the hum from the turbines is causing me sleeplessness and loss of libido, so I'm gonna sue toooo!

Out of all the mongy anti green movements anti turbine freaks are the mongiest.

F*ckers were like a bad crotch rash in my old town/area. The "Letters to the Editor"s pages were CRAMMED with these idiots spouting their EXTREMELY misinformed nonsense using "big" words to try and make themselves feel smart. They were basically just stroking each others cocks. The most infuriating part was when after years of this nonsense they heard that occasionally birds get taken out by them so all of a sudden it turned to "SAVE THE BIRDS!! WE'RE ENVIRONMENTALISTS!!!". Of course that totally overlooks the fact so few birds are affected by turbines compared to pretty much EVERYTHING ELSE WE DO AS HUMANS that it is not even statistically relevant.

I agree. Anyone who doesn't live in a neighborhood with a gate, strong HOA, and a 1/32 acre lot so you can hear your neighbor's toilet flush is clearly a subversive element and should brought up on criminal charges.

/Also, IMHO they aren't ugly. I wouldn't mind'm being in my neighborhood. Sure they aren't trees or rolling hills but people who call them eyesores are just landscape studmans.

4 decibels above the sound of wind.  And the nearest neighboy is 1 mile away?  Submitter has the right tag.

People want green energy, and some DEMAND it. But if the green energy adds a dollar or two to their electric bill, they scream bloody murder. They want it all for nothing.

Yes it does.  Trees block wind.

Isn't half the point of living in the middle of nowhere is that you can do whatever the hell you want and no one complains?  I thought having a house out on the mountains meant that you're ALLOWED to be an asshole.  You have 500 yards of asshole stank buffer.

I'm assuming he's doing it for the environment and not because he thinks he's going to live long enough for it to be cost effective.

Anti turbine freaks have proven over the years they are completely listen to logic, facts or reason. Since their petulant shrieking is impossible to ignore the only option left is to mock and insult them.

And you have you HEARD some of the sh*t these people call their "enemies"? They are some of the most boorish and insulting assholes you'll encounter... so basically your average conservative nutf*ck.

Oh but don't you DARE insult them. Oh no. You can't even point out flaws in their arguments because YOU'RE THE RACIST, YOU STUPID LIBRUL MOOSLIM NI*BONG* LOVER!!!
