No, that's the Locomotion.  People confuse those two all the time.

/incidentally, I think I've discovered why your Fark login and your location don't match.  What is there to do in this town apart from avoid the locals?

Considering that most murders are committed by friends and family, not strangers, this is not news.

Well it's kind of hard to see the status update after you die.

Orillia?  It's small town Ontario.  You could always drink.  If it were summer there would be the lake and if it were winter you could go skating or skiing or ice-fishing but at this time of year there isn't much else.

If you are into cultural things you could kill an hour at the art museum downtown.

I think the revelation is not that being a gang member puts you more at risk, it's that being close to someone who was murdered puts you more at risk. Being in a gang is not any higher risk than not being in one as far as getting murdered is concerned. You are not more at risk knowing bad people, you are more at risk knowing murdered people.

Wait so by having a friend that was stabbed to death with a screwdriver on Christmas day by his girlfriend a couple of years back puts me at risk for being murdered? WTF?

The Ring (and Ringu) sucked.

Most Japanese horror sucks. All screeching ghosts and animal-demons and backwards-walking things that moan altogether too much.

Got a phone call when the video ended. It was a friend drunk-dialing his farts. I had never been so scared in all my life.

There is a bit more to this data than that - it's actually pretty interesting.
Unless you're really dumb, I guess.

Yes, it does. Now go find out what statistical risk actually is, and it will make sense to you.
Living in California gives me a higher chance of being an undocumented immigrant.
I am not an undocumented immigrant to that extent, nor is living in California a causal factor in one's immigration status.

Seems to be an extension of 'ally in dissent.' As in, the more people that violate social norms, the more people join them. Not exactly stunning revelations. It's part of the reason murder is significantly higher in some places, as people consider it a norm instead of a violation of their social contract.
