Smoke weed everyday!

Did anyone else have a Rat Patrol in high school? We had a squad of adult narcs who would roam the school with walkie talkies and busy students for smoking or skipping class.

Helped that one of them dated my sister.

Hookahs?   Or water pipes?

Big difference.

Do those other items all contain the same levels of horrendous toxic additives that cigarettes do?

I'm asking seriously.  No snark intended.

It's worse than that.  They gives you the AIDS while not being taxed like regular cigarettes!

The horror!

It's addictive, and unlike coffee if she runs out of juice where we live the only way to scratch that itch are cigarettes.  I'd rather she avoid the same health issues I have thanks to smoking for a decade.

If we had a large vape shop where she could quickly score a refill I might have a different opinion.

Honestly, I don't think that even mild stimulants like caffeine are a good idea to give to teenagers on a regular basis. While inhaling vaporized propylene glycol with flavor probably isn't seriously harmful, it's still not a good habit to get into.

Of course, on the other hand, I don't really see what people get out of nicotine anyway. The only time I ever smoked when I was not drunk off my ass was when I quick smoking weed and needed something to replace the ritual of lighting up something and inhaling it. Quit after a few months because it was expensive as hell and honestly I would still get a bit sick to my stomach if I smoked an entire cig.

FTFA: "Overall, 23.3 percent of high school students (grades 9-12) said they had used a tobacco product at least once in the 30 days before they were surveyed in 2012, said the study published in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. That was down from the 24.3 percent who said they had used a tobacco product at least once in the same survey in 2011"

So Tobacco use is still down among teens. I'm inclined to believe its because cigarettes are a lot harder to get/see than other tobacco products. Local gas stations around here have cigs locked up behind register yet a big glass cigar display case right by the door...

Most people who become addicted to cigarettes have underlying anxiety or depression issues and the nicotine helps regulate their mood.

Propylene glycol is relatively safe.  There may be a few who experience a negative reaction to it, but that's true in any substance.  I suspect that regular use of PG through e-cigs might lead to a higher incidence of certain cancers and other conditions, but until the long-terms studies are complete there's no way to be certain.  So I avoid it as a general rule.

Glycerol, on the other hand, is everywhere.  My antibiotic inhaler used it as a delivery mechanism.  I've been regularly consuming it my entire life.  Science has a good handle on the risks that VG poses, regardless of how it's put into the body.

I'm fine with a rise in e-cigs. I know the long term studies aren't anywhere close to being ready, but anything without all the additional crap that's in a cigarette has to be marginally less bad for the body. Still wouldn't recommend the habit, but I'm not offended at people inhaling vapor indoors.

I don't know if I would call it quality, when they say kids are smoking cigars, they're not talking about real Cuban or Nicaraguan cigars, they're talking about Black & Mild's, Swisher Sweets and grape flavored Phillies. God knows what's in those things.

I took up pipe smoking about a year ago.  For years I had bummed the occasional cigarette while out drinking with friends but never bought any of my own.  There are plenty of pipe smokers forums online where you can find people claiming it is much safer and less of a cancer risk than cigarettes, and I think what they say even makes partial sense, due to it being just tobacco with no additives and no inhaling into the lungs.  I'm not claiming it is perfectly safe because I'm sure that it isn't.  I do however find a bowl or two of tobacco very relaxing at the end of a long day.  Also I've been told by many people that they love the smell.  I'm not sure why cigs are so rancid and disgusting while pipe smoke isn't.

Pipe tobacco is actually tobacco. Cigarette tobacco (with a handful of exceptions) is a homogenized mixture of tobacco and reconstituted tobacco-tea soaked paper that's then rolled and dipped in a doping solution that effectively freebases the nicotine when the cig is lit. Nasty stuff.

Protanks rock. After last week, though, I'd recommend keeping a spare on hand in case your central column snaps or your tank shatters. I had to use a T3S for a few days until I could get to my B&M for a replacement.
