I think that it wasn't that someone threatened her on Twitter as much as a lot of someones were threatening her multiple times and giving exact dates and times as to when they'd kill her. There's a big difference between "Go die already, would you?!?" and "It's time, today at 2:15 PM, we will kill!!!". Odds are high that whomever this is, had sent her a few messages (probably under a different handle) before the first one that she took official notice of.

I can see where she would have someone actually investigate this. Even if it's all the work of maybe one or two internet tough guys that wouldn't actually do anything, you shouldn't really take that chance if you get a lot of threats saying that they'll kill you at a specific time if you don't do a specific thing. Fans are weird. Most of the time they're just relatively harmless weirdos that are perfectly happy to root through your trash and sniff your empty milk cartons. Once in a blue moon you get someone who decides to break into your house and reenact Reservoir Dogs' torture scene.

Either way, I want to see video of the police arresting whomever was making the threats. It'd be hilarious if they could get the guy to pee all over himself.

Everyone involved in these "death threats" works for Tombraider's publicity company.

Internet death threats are often just temper tantrums because they didn't like a thing. Whether character in a show does something they don't like, a web icon doesn't like a thing, or a new thing turns out to be disappointing. When children are on the internet, they throw proper etiquette out the window and let emotions in the way. Like five year olds when they don't get that lollipop at the store.

/Tomb Raider reboot was pretty good
//Fingers crossed that Thief does good, too
