(Wired)   You know what this restaurant needs? More lasers, LEDs, mirrors, dinosaurs, and giant bikini-clad fembots. Why of course we're in Japan, why do you ask?   (wired.com) divider line 24

In a skit set on a faraway planet, two performers dressed as cave-women ride atop a dinosaur as they battle robots invading from outer space.

Makes sense so far.

Came to mention this. Sounds like somebody caught that episode and decided to write an article about it.

Agreed. Even Bourdain was all, "What the....I don't even."

All you need is a frog with a sword and it's Chrono Trigger

Did they read my dream diary?

"I don't think there's a whole bunch of guys who want to see weird looking robots and crazy colored hallways with strobe lights and lit floors."

There are now.  Great businesspeople don't give you what you want; they give you what you didn't even know you wanted.

God, it's weird when you see them on the corner after the show and you know every inch of the place they're in. That corner is not leading away from robot shop. They're actually walking TOWARDS it. Shuffle beat is north (slightly downhill) from the robot cafe. They're headed south (slightly uphill) in the beginning of the shot. Movie magic.

The trick to this is to not over analyze it. It is pure escapism.

Just take the blotter and walk in. Have the senses completely assaulted for an hour or two and stumble on out, mind reeling in a what the hell just happened haze. Sounds like fun.

I've been to this spot. People dressed as pandas riding robot cows fighting Afro robots while girls dance.

Amazing!

Is there a reason they couldn't hold a shot onscreen for more than 2 seconds?

Came here to make a "Noisy Boy" reference, leaving satisfied knowing that Kanemano has it already taken care of.

Yes, they they were taught filmmaking in the last 7 years. Everything MUST be handheld. Every shot must last NO LONGER than 1.5 seconds. You must pan and zoom as often as possible. You MUST NOT listen to the director when they say "Do not move the camera" over and over and over again and they must get you to physically remove your hands from the camera and then you STILL want to move the camera (actual experience with film students, repeated over and over)

It`s edgy, exiting, and interesting apparently. I think it`s just crap.

/haven`t looked at the video yet. I`ll look now.

My god. It`s even worse than I thought it would be.

I need to go away for a bit now to recover. I`m glad I had the sound off.

As far as I can figure they are being taught it at college.
