It was only a matter of time before China did this, seeing as how bad the disparity between boys and girls has gotten.   As is, there is a whole generation of boys that far outnumber girls.   Makes you wonder what the social ramifications will be.

I'm glad this post has been labeled the duplicate. This is not to bash the original submitter, however. It's just that the Slate article is so... empty? Sexist? Occidenticentric? Lacking in facts? Which one do I pick?
