Well they won't have to work so hard when the Broncos play my Pats next weekend!!!

/Because the game is in Foxboro
//Not because the Pats D has any prayer of holding them under 35 points

I really hope for a 50 burger's worth of fireworks against the Chiefs. My ego has forced me to go all in with the trolling, so If the Broncos don't win resoundingly I am definitely going to be forcefed some humble-pie by a half dozen friends of mine.

They should use fireworks for field goals.  It's a rare event - 12 Denver field goals vs. Manning's 33 touchdown passes.   Gonna be the Prater Bowl this weekend!

It's OK, they'll get their rest come playoff time.

Every Enver thread is doomed to be about ponies. Same with Indy. By now we pretty much all know what to expect. Every 10th post  or so is another cartoon of a pastel colored pony with big eyes and an exagerrated facial expression. If anybody mentions it at all then it ramps up to another cartoon pony pic every 3-5 posts.

We try to contain the ponies to just that. Check the sunday threads -- only during the time Denver is actually playing is where you see the ponies -- soon after the game is over, we stop posting.

It's just a gag, some people just react really bad to it...

I'm a huge Peyton Manning fan. I'm from Indy, so it's not absurd that I follow the Colts and the Broncos. I see the cartoon Ponies everywhere. They do not bother me. This is Fark, which is like the internet x 1,000. It's a fair compromise for still being one of the most entertaining websites ever launched. I will put up with them as long as I have to.

/Go Broncos
//Really, I hate Jim Irsay but if the Colts won the Superbowl again I wouldn't mind

They've been working the Broncos games for six years. But this year, something is different. Scott Gray said, "We definitely have to pay attention a lot more."

I've always wondered about this. Do these people just watch the scoreboard, do they get a call? If so, is it from the officials, or from the team?

They have some of the best seats in the house, but they don't get much time to enjoy the view. Gray said, "We always say pyro is hurry up and wait, it's move, move, move. Do a lot of work, then there's a lot of down time sitting around, but this year there's been less down time than there's been in year's past."

I've wondered about this, too... Why not have 7  or 8 pots already set up? First score, fire #1, and so on...

Possibly that wouldn't be cost effective.

I don't know why. Fireworks aren't bananas, they don't immediately start to go bad when you take them out of their plastic bag. It seems less cost effective to have people hurrying up to wait than to make them beforehand, ship 'X' number to the stadium on gameday, and then bring the rest back to the warehouse.

I guess that's why I'm not in pyro, although that would have been an AWESOME field to get into.

Pyrotechnics can get very expensive, but I'm sure the team could afford doing as you say. However, I would still bet that this comes down to money because it would be easier to have them preset as you suggest, similar to those you would see at a show (concert, 4th of July, etc), but of course, those are already intended to be used.

I imagine Decker would drive a black firebird and pull up to high school with Stroke Me playing on his 8 track and would actually be the coolest guy ever in 1978. Or now.
