but thank god the liberal mainstream msm media, called her out on it for the bullshiat that it is.

right?

Damnit, Blitzer. Call her farking out. She's lying her ass off.

She's a farking member of congress.
If she doesn't have health insurance, it's because she chose not to have it.

how is that even possible?

I think her and her hubby can find health insurance...they may not cover the Benny Hinn Faith Healer sessions....but they will find ins.

2013-11-15 06:51:09 AM
Why is it that whenever people complain about losing their insurance and someone follows up on it, they can get better insurance than they had for cheaper?

/Is Bachmann a liar if she's having hallucinations?

Don't worry. Your butthole has ways of just shutting things down when that happens. Not sure about your freedoms.

Right. And, if she opted out of that and chose to insure herself (instead of sucking off the taxpayers), I'd say she gets a tick in the positive column. But, something tells me that isn't what's going on here.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe a word she says and I'm dumbfounded that she wasn't pressed on that remark.

Weren't Republicans like her going on with some meme about how congress "shouldn't excuse themselves from Obamacare" or something a month or two back, and somehow that should involve them giving up their current healthcare plans? (I dunno, it never made sense.)

Yeah, that's true. Maybe they shouldn't have politicians on at all since they only serve as their gratis PR firms.

Because if they did, the politicians might stop coming on the nightly shows and ratings would go down.

The 24/7 News Cycle is doing more to destroy this country than any other single force in history.

well technically she did "lose" her insurance, but only because the right-wing spent several months shiatting their pants about congress being "exempt from obamacare"

This is why I am done with this shiat.
Fortunately, I live in California, and sometime soon when the mood takes me I'll get my insurance off the website.
I'm not listening to any more bullshiat - I don't believe even one word of it any more - any of it.
I'll find out for myself.

She's right. Congress are specifically singled out in the PPACA, requiring them to join the exchanges. Everyone else in the country is free to continue getting insurance through their employer or individually directly from the companies.

Congress has to get its insurance from the exchanges.  This is the "exemption" that the right wing propaganda mill is lying about, and was enacted precisely so that such things as healthcare.gov get fixed.

apoptotic: If Bachmann is so bent out of shape about the portion of the law that moves Congress/staff from the federal benefits plan to the exchange, maybe she should start derisively referring to it as "GrassleyCare".

Pretty much. She is correct that her FEHBP coverage is cancelled and that she is now required to purchase her plan through the DC exchange. That's because Republicans claimed getting to continue to obtain employer-provided coverage was Congress "getting an exemption from Obamacare" and wrote into law that members of Congress and their staff have to obtain coverage through the exchanges too (even though no one is required to use the exchanges anyway, it just provides subsidies if your employer does not offer coverage.)

Umm, no, remember that under the ACA by a provision the Republicans added, all members of congress will have to buy plans under the exchange. Congress will provide them funds to help them buy insurance. I'm not sure about the whole DC website thing, I assume they can buy from their home state???

It's not that the bullshiat is brazen. It's that whatever media *isn't* owned by 'conservatives' is terrified of being called 'liberal'.

Figure I might as well point out, as someone from Minnesota, she doesn't need to go to the Federal exchange. Minnesota created their own website and exchange, and seems work pretty good. So if we believe her that she did not have the insurance provided for members of Congress, she still is lying liar. If her husband needs so much medical treatment, then I would be hesitant to believe they had a subpar policy. And if so, she does not realize that without the ACA they could have been dropped at any time anyways and denied further insurance.

Isn't funny how the most whacko religious people are always the most immoral and unethical?

My google-fu is failing me, but I'm sure that somewhere, someone can find a video of her complaining that Congress would be exempt from Obamacare.

Republican math: For all X in the observable universe and imaginationland, if Republicans support X, then at some future time when Obama or Reid agree to X, X will suddenly become a vicious attack on freedom and/or jerbs.

Hi. You might not have met me before. My name is "slavery." I actually managed to destroy the country for four years about 150 years ago. So, while I agree with your basic sentiment (24/7 News Cycle = bad). I would still like to have my due as being the single force that has done the most to destroy the country. Get back to me with your theory when the "24/7 News Cycle" kills 100,000s of Americans, much as I did. Thanks.

Karac: Nevermind, found it myself - own her own house.gov blog no less:

Why are the American people ordered to abide by this health care law while certain congressional staffers are exempt? If Congress really believed this bill is so great, then they too should abide by its requirements. If nothing else,  this exemption tells us in black and white that this legislation is not as good as advertised. If it were, there would be no need for the exemption.

She'd argue that it shows how lousy the bill is: now that Obamacare applies to her, she lost her coverage, as did everyone else* who is legally mandated to no longer accept employer-provided insurance and enter into the health exchanges.

* - no one except for Congress and their staff
