I...kinda feel like I need to buy a truck from Volvo now.

That may have been an Epic Split, But Chuck Norris was driving both trucks!

My testicles ripped in half just watching that.

he looks older and kinda creepy in the godaddy ads

2013-11-14 07:04:32 PM
I thought it was rather lame. If it was real at all they were definitely running the clip backwards

The teaser video they link to is pretty funny.

Well, duh. We age. What should impress you is that he's still doing that epic split, even though he's OLD.

2013-11-14 07:16:41 PM
I recommend Euro Truck Simulator 2 for anyone even slightly interested in trucks

Majick Thise: I thought it was rather lame. If it was real at all they were definitely running the clip backwards

I had the same thought initially; but then it occurred to me that it's safer for Jean (he doesn't get run over if he falls) and more impressive from a truck control standpoint (much harder to keep it straight while reversing) if they drive backwards.

It's video-shopped.
I can tell by the moving pixels.

Which is the whole point of the commercial.

Even if PSed, still impressive. Had a Saab once, wish I still did; if ever get to buy another car, it may be a Wolwo.

I give it ★★★★  out of  ★★★★★ would watch again

Oddly enough, he actually does seem more attractive - not just older, but with a humble cynicism born from the rise and fall of his fame.

Bloodsport was an excellent* movie. The first couple UFCs were actually just like the movie sans the "to the death" part.

*JCVD excellent

2013-11-14 08:27:38 PM
Note a few things. The truck on the right stays on the line, while the truck on the left goes to the same position to get the split. There are markers on the road, so if its accelerated, it was a long shot. Both drivers look the same. JCVD still looks old on the last shot. No explosions, no guns.

On the basis of no guns and no explosion, im calling it BS.

Bonus points for Enya soundtrack.  That make a Double Impact.

He really was taking maximum risk attempting that stunt. A single mistake would no doubt have resulted in sudden death.

Another thing is that the truck that moves is a box truck, not an 18 wheeler. That makes it easier to steer backing up. If the 18 wheeler had been the one to move it would have been just a bit more epic.

The other thing I'm going to guess is that there was a safety harness that was "After Effected" out.

I'm calling real, but with a safety net that was digitally removed.

That commercial almost didn't happen until Van Damme's insurance agency made an executive decision.

It was a hard target, but he didn't retreat, didn't surrender.  There was nowhere to run in that searing desert heat.  Good thing they weren't driving some knock off trucks.

Now that is getting just ridiculous and impossible.  Chuck is in one truck, his beard is in the other.

I preferred the hamster wheel steering, really shows off the technology better

The truck on the right is a semi-trailer with tractor truck.  The one on the left is a straight truck.  The semi stays straight while reversing while the straight truck is the one that pulls away.  It would be much harder to accomplish this if they were both semis since they don't like to go backwards and straight at the same time.

Impressive. Both JCVD and the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering.

It was carried out by professionals

in a closed-off area

I was half expecting another frame that said, "Jean Claude was carried out by professionals with a torn-off area."
