I have never really watched Bob's Burgers, although I have heard some people rave about it and some have the opposite reaction. What I don't get is, are they supposed to be some sort of "ethnic" family? The little I have caught doesn't seem to show them with accents. I guess I don't quite get the show.

because it's a horrible show and you would only watch it if you have nothing to live for.

Without researching I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the age demo on Bob's Burgers skews a lot younger than Modern Family and several other of the shows mentioned.

They (the main characters) don't have accents. Well they do, but they are American ones.

Was going to say this.... if your primary demographic is kids in and freshly out of college (ie, the whole "Animation Domination" block), that will generally have a lower income level than 35-45 year olds.

I've watched it a few times, and IMO, the show would do a lot better to focus on just the kids and push the parents to minor support roles. Bob and his wife annoy me, but the kids are farking hilarious.

I'm a late adopter when it comes to TV programming because I tend to jinx series in that they don't even make it a season. Cartoons are always pretty low on the list. That said, we caught an episode last Sunday and once again I found myself wondering where the fark I've been. It's pretty damn funny.

The kids are great. They perfectly encapsulate what it's like to be/grow up with weird kids. I'm surprised most Farkers can't identify.

Also, I am always surprised when I'm reminded that America's Funniest Home Videos is still running.

I'm sorry but you are just plain wrong...it's genius, and it's wayyyy better than the simpsons. If you don't like it that's your problem, but it's incredibly well written, original, funny and beautifully subversive.

Besides any show that crosses over with archer just for the hell of it, is great.

2013-11-14 02:43:01 PM
I've seen as much of it as netflix has.  It alternates from being meh to sort of funny, I think.  Also, when I watch Archer, I don't really hear McGurk, but I do watching this.

They could push them all to the background and just make it the Louise show.

No surprise. The "poor" list could also be replaced with "younger".  Animated shows like Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers have a younger audience who typically make less since they are most likely just starting their careers.

FTFY

Bob is entertaining, but the mom is annoying. Bob and Gene going toe to toe over Beefsquatch was great.

I didn't think much of the first season (the kids seemed like your average ungrateful bratty kids to me), but the second season does improve. I'm a huge fan of Archer, so I've been willing to give Bob's Burgers more of a chance than I would normally.

"Bob's Burgers" is terrible. So is "American Dad". And so is "Family Guy". Though at least "Family Guy" has its moments. The other shows don't. I won't even talk about "The Simpsons".

Fox's animation block is just awful.

I don't see much in common between any show in either list.  However, I didn't realize how much bad television was out there.

It is easy to find the best shows when you watch them on DVD 3 years after they came out.

well you won't be jinxing it.  Already aired 49, already committed to get well into syndication territory, already running on Adult Swim like the other fox toons.

And about the article, there are probably lots of teenagers bringing the income number down but still have plenty of mom and dads money to spend.

i'm in the group of folks who though "meh" about the first season of bob's burgers, but now i thoroughly enjoy the show!
