Key & Peele are OK, but they take jokes way too far.  Now my wife & I have a saying when people go on & on with a joke that starts out funny but outlasts it's welcome: They Key & Peeled it.

On another note, WTF is up with FXX cancelling Totally Biased???  I'm pissed...that show was just starting to hit it's stride.  Hope it's picked up by another network.

Adorably racist.

I also enjoyed Jon's five minute rant on Chicago style pizza.  I enjoy both kinds, honestly, but always love how New Yorkers seem to treat their pizza like it's a religion.

I mostly do not have this problem with their skits, save for the over-hyper valets in front of the hotel skits.  Those line the road of eternity or some shiat.  Way too farking long.

K&P are funny, their shiat does occasionally drag on just a bit too long, but that Metta World shiat has not been funny once. Not a single time.

I think the angriest Jon Stewart got during the 2012 elections was the bit he did after Donald Trump had pizza with Sarah Palin.

I try to avoid these pointless arguments but...apparently I need to up my medication this morning. Chicago pizza is superior because it employs innovative culinary tricks like FLAVOR, TEXTURE and QUALITY INGREDIENTS. If I want a New York pizza experience I'll just go to 7-11 and buy the cheapest, crappiest looking thing I can find. Then I'll have a bum rub it on his nutsack a couple times. Voila! NY style pizza.

That's the bane of every televised sketch comedy show.   Pick any pre-recorded sketch comedy show ... Kids in the Hall, The State,  Monty Python etc.   They all run into the same problem.  It's not enough to just have a funny concept or premise, you have to have a funny concept or premise that can fill a time slot.   When you only have so many top shelf sketches, you can either drag out the good ones out as far as your can take it, or shoe horn in a sub par one to fill time.         I'm pretty sure 90% of the breaking character on Carroll Burnett Show were intentional stalls trying to kill time.

It's a perfectly tasty dish.

If Chicagoans would just rename theirs "Chicago Style Pizza-Flavored Casserole", we could avoid all this nasty name calling.

I also fall into the pizza agnostic category.  Sometimes you feel like a slice of NY style, sometimes you want a really good deep dish.  Don't know exactly what qualifies as Detroit style, but hey, whatever.
You are all free to like what you like.

Except for St. Louis style, because that provel crap is a sin against all that is good and holy in this world.

Looks interesting...  I see a place in Columbia, MO serves it.  May have to stop by next time I am passing through.

I'm in KC, MO, which hosts pretty much any type of pizza available, but really doesn't have it's own specific style of pizza (except maybe to take any other pizza style and add an extra serving of meat to it).

It's actually winning pizza competitions lately.  Granted, that comes form the Detroit Free Press, with a vested interest in hyping it's home town, but hey.  It's the kind of pizza I've always preferred, though I will eat about any kind if it's good.  I grew up north of Detroit, ate at places that served pizza like this all my life, and never even knew it was a "style" of pizza akin to NY or Chi-town.

Everyone roots for the home team, I guess.

2013-11-14 11:16:43 AM
Not sure why this is happening here, but while it may be technically called New York-style Pizza, it's really just called pizza.  And this is how everyone knows it worldwide, because practically everyone worldwide who eats pizza eats this style.  Alternatives to pizza are OK, too and I would eat them, though perhaps it's best to omit the homeless man nutsack ingredients.

I'm better now. I've had good pizza in NY. And of all places, Louisville, KY. Not Papa Johns. Some local place that I could only get some gigantic monster pizza from. It was excellent.

You know, in his past pizza tirades, Stewart has said the proper way to eat a pizza is to fold it. Doesn't that make it more of a sandwich, or a quesadilla? Maybe an open-faced sandwich.

Between this and his comment that hot dogs can only have 3 ingredients, it seems Jon can't handle a real meal. What a shame.

Chicago style is best style.

I was wondering when this would turn into a Pizza Thread after Stewart's rant last night. I will say just about every town has a great place to get Pizza. Might not be the best in the world but much better then Dominos or Pizza hut or the Places that say they are ( Insert style here )
My Vote for the Tidewater Area ( Virginia Beach, Norfolk,P-Town) is Orapax Pizza in the Ghent section in Norfolk. They do Greek cuisine and Greek Pizza.. Its incredibly hard to find but its been there forever and makes a great Pie. If you live or visit the area its worth a shot.
s3-media4.ak.yelpcdn.com

there was a place that had excellent NY Style Pizza but its gone:( There are no Chicago style Pizza joints in the area. After watching the show last night I want to try it.
