Using the name "Ford" is one thing, using their logo is a suing.

What? I thought Rob Ford was the inspiration for the new Model T-Bagger Ford.

They should throw the book at them, unless Ford stopped including the Protocols of the Elders with the purchase of each new car.

This new Ford Focus can turn on dime... like Rob Ford when someone pulls out a bag of coke.

This new Ford Mustang is responsive... like Rob Ford when his dealer calls him back.

This new Ford Probe cannot be inserted into your rectum... unlike the Oxycontin suppositories enjoyed by Rob Ford.

Was about to say exactly that. If he was a member of the public and there was definite proof of hardcore drug usage, he'd be getting jail time. Add to that the fact he flat-out lied about using drugs.

How does a sack-of-shiat like that still have supporters, even inside his own family?

In Kanuckistan, the Mayor controls the police who don't arrest politicians unless they are leftwing and protesting rightwing policies.

Lots of blue collar workers and low level office staff, especially at my workplace. However the number of immigrant/minorities that support him astound me. Anecdotal yes, but almost everyone at my workplace who supports him isn't white, and almost everyone who is ragging on him is white. Make of this what you will.

Shouldn't that fall under "fair use" as in parody or something like that?

I know, the courts probably see it differently from me and of course, I'm not a lawyer.

The thing is, they're not parodying Ford Motors.  They're appropriating their logo to support Ford.  To qualify as parody, they would have to be making some joke about the car company or its cars.

FTFA: Ford rose 2.3 percent to $17.10 at the close in New York.

I know it's de rigueur to add a mention of a company's stock price in any financial news article, but this makes it sound like, "Ford was up 2.3 percent today on news that people are making Rob Ford t-shirts."

Oh they're serious. After giving a group of them a weird look the said "What he does in his personal life shouldn't matter, he's doing a good job and lowered taxes!". I didn't bother to point out that if he came out as gay they'd probably be talking so much crap about how he shouldn't be mayor, but I left that can of worms alone.

I was there because my friend talked me into checking them out because I'm a metal head who could never really get into them. I can see why people like them just not really my thing. Their set lasted at least an hour and 20 minutes and I just got kinda bored. Worth checking out just not really my kind of metal.

/Kvelertek was fun though.

FTA:Ford reclaimed control of its blue oval logo last year after using it and other assets as collateral to borrow $23.4 billion in 2006 which allowed the company to weather the global financial crisis. The Dearborn-based company regained control after Moody's Investors Service became the second major ratings company to upgrade the carmaker to investment grade.

That seems to say they got a buyout, which they say they didn't. I guess using collateral is the difference rather than just taking a bucket of cash and dumping your "old company"

He may win re-election even. Right now the best hope is a more sane conservative steps up and splits the right wing vote with Ford, because the left wing candidates are going to split the vote on the other side.
