A sequel could work. Have James Earl Jones do a death scene and Eddie Murphy becomes king. Then the new king has to return to New York to meet world leaders and give a speech at the U.N. But he takes along his son and Arsenio's daughter, who decide to sneak away and have an adventure together in the Big Apple.

She's your Queen-to-be. A Queen-to-be forever. A Queen who'll do whatever his highness desires. She's your Queen-to-be. A vision of perfection. An object of affection to quench your royal fire. Completely free from infection. To be used at your discretion. Waiting only for your direction. Your Queen-to-be.

Ah, the good old days when Eddie Murphy was an edgy funny comic. I'm sure I'm probably missing one film, but I really don't remember the last time a comic had his stand up act released in theaters like "Raw" was. And just saw this in Wiki for "Raw":

"The film contained the word "fark" 223 times,[2] |setting the record for highest "fark count" ever in a feature-length, theatrically-released film at the time (surpassing Scarface). Raw held the record until 1990, and has since been eclipsed by three dozen more recent films as social norms toward profanity relax."

Single comic, I'm not sure. However there were the Kings of Comedy and Blue Collar Comedy Tour films.

I remember watching him interview Eddy Murphy on his first show. It was the worst interview he had ever done on that show, it was probably one of the worst interviews I have ever seen on a major late night talk show. The problem with it was that they had so many inside jokes and had known each other for so long, that when they would start talking about something they would both start laughing and it would go into a conversation between the two of them and everybody was left out. But Arsenio also had some of the best and funniest interviews I had ever seen on a show, the funniest being the interview with Frank Zappa's sons.

If they did a sequel, would Paramount have to pay the estate of Art Buchwald? Again?

Last night about this time, I saw Arsenio's opening monologue.  i realized it was the first time I'd seen one of those in almost 20 years.

Course, the jokes seemed almost that old, too.  He did have a bit about the old answering machine from the last time he had a show, with 'unplayed messages' on it.  One of them was from DJ Jazzy Jeff, about talking Will Smith out of giving up rapping for acting.  Another was from Dave Chappelle, about how once someone has their own show, they should never give it up.

I aw Alien 3 in the theater, and I'm pretty sure they wore out that word so much that it started looking something like "=LC<" by the end credits.
