You mean Obamacare "attractive"?

2013-11-13 08:37:03 AM
Again?

People that cyberbully others because their photo was used to promote something should be hung by their toenails.

2013-11-13 08:38:33 AM
Dumbasses.  She's hot.  Not her fault the Obama administration can't code.

2013-11-13 08:38:46 AM
And I'll bet you all of the harassers and attackers blame Obama for their not having a job.

2013-11-13 08:39:04 AM
Yes, conservatives are evil and prone to misplaced anger.

USA! USA! USA!

I'll teach you to have a loose, non-political association with something I'm personally opposed to!

The article is vague but it sounds like some of that 'cyberbullying' was just people making fun of the site and not her specifically. Though the article says there was speculation on whether or not she was even a citizen, it doesn't cite where. Though I'm sure that happened on some message board somewhere...I just don't know how much someone would be really impacted by something no one will really remember in a month (her face on the page, not the ACA stuff).

There are a lot of neanderthal jackasses in this country. A lot.

Who has this kind of free time? Learn a second language, play an instrument, volunteer at a soup kitchen. Do something other than make reality shiattier.

A perfect example of the American mentality today... stock photo, she was neither asked or paid... and has voiced no comments concerning trainwreckcare... but morons have to find someone to blame their frustrations on, and they don't have the intelligence to see the real cause...

2013-11-13 08:41:43 AM
She sounds crazy.

The comments in that article are whole new breed of special.  I'm paraphrasing, but:"She's been here six years.  If she loves America why hasn't she become a citizen?"

As if American citizenship is something you just sign up for.  Outside of the ridiculous amounts of paperwork and waiting, there is an actually test and interview that goes along with it.I actually watched my mom study for her citizenship test when I was ~13 years old and it was more work than anything I ever had to learn in a social studies class.  From what I've heard, they've actually made the test harder.

I would be  SHOCKED if 50% of these derpers could actually pass that test.

Yes cyber bullying is for low classes of the human species.

On another topic, it is rather ironic in a way that the lady whose face is on the front of the government healthcare website is not even a citizen.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services said that Adriana's photo was removed because "Healthcare.gov is a dynamic website," not because she requested it.

Another lie.

A while back, an article was posted on FARK- I'd have to find it- where she was smeared relentlessly in the comments (not the FARK comments, but the ones on the article itself) This should have been a followup. Also, in the thread on that one, someone posted a link to a thread on DerpRepublic where they were being nasty towards her, as well.I would be surprised if the people on that site DIDN'T question her immigration status, just because she doesn't look 100% "American" (Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean)

At least if you are going to track her down and harass her, do it for the right way - the creepy stalker because she is hot way.  But for political reasons?  The generic face on the page is just a model.  That person has no political agenda or power or connection aside from being the model.

OlderGuy: common sense

"Common sense" is another way of saying "uneducated opinion" when talking about complicated topics like the economy. Sure, it's a great thing to have when you're trying to decide whether or not to do something obvious like place your hand on a hot stove. Not so useful when talking about the intricate and wide-reaching workings of a national and globally-connected economic powerhouse like the United States.

There's a reason people who actually guide the macroeconomics of this country don't put "common sense" on their resume instead of their actual qualifications. Because "common sense" isn't very useful when you're working with ANYTHING with that amount of actual data available.

Now go flip my burger, chief. It's starting to char.

And don't touch the stove when you do, it's hot.

Ugh. Thanks for clarifying what the article didn't. But ugh. Her upset makes a lot more sense, and it seems the term bullying does indeed apply. UGH. People suck. :(

She was on Good Morning America this morning.  She is Columbian.  She is not a citizen, but she has residency status.

Here is a quick overview of what happened...
She is not a professional model.  She's just some woman.  She did a quick little modelling shoot for some company that gathers stock photography.  (On a personal note, I find it really amusing that stock photography was used for the site at all.)  She was paid practically nothing for it, as those jobs normally don't pay well.  She had no idea what the photos would be used for.  Such is the way with stock photo shoots...

So she has no connection to this website whatsoever.  It just happened to be her face used on the cover page.  The people associating her with the site must simply be clueless morons who have no idea how media companies work.  You think that guy on the Uloric website actually has gout?  No.  Stock photo.  No difference, really.

FTA:

the agency responsible for the Affordable Care Act's rollout, about having photos of her and her family taken in exchange for allowing the photos to be used to market the new health care law. She was never paid.

/Obamacare screwed over someone right away I see.

Plus there's the $5000 to $10000 you need to pay for application fees, legal guidance, meaningless trips to third countries to get your visa stamped, etc.  And don't forget that for the entire multi-year process you're betting everything you have on something that can just be arbitrarily denied or delayed indefinitely with no explanation.

I find the commentary on many sites, that aren't youtube...., to actually be more sophisticated and definitely far more diverse than at Fark where a quarter of the commenters seem to think if you aren't circle jerking you're trolling, another quarter are a never-ending supply of coming-of-age children (with some overlap of the first quart) and another quarter are political hacktivists that will find fault in every position of their opposing party and never see any valid criticism of their candidates and related policies/laws, all based on a letter next to the name.   My favorite comment yet on this story, though perhaps not from the cited article, was concerning the protection of privacy.   The government that cannot protect their own paid actress has for years been trying put our medical records in one easy to access but "secure" location.  Not much of a point, I know, but the bar just isn't very high...

A large part of these idiots' worldview depends on that though.  They always biatch about undocumented immigrants and say "well why don't they just sign up to be citizens lol."  If they understood that the process takes years and years, they might have to reconsider their position on such people.  It's much easier for them to just tell themselves the comforting lie that immigrants are bad and it's their own fault for being lazy if they aren't citizens.

And this is exactly the type of frenzied jackal mentality that has made me give up my life long aspirations of being a well known musician. I use multiple pseudonyms and keep the styles so erratic even if someone did manage to pin me down to a release it is unlikely they could connect the dots to the other projects.

And that is also why you are all forced to listen to the horrendous auto tuned corporate crap belted out by plastic hookers and roided up thuggo douchebags. Anyone with half a brain or soul would never subject themselves or their families to the ignorant probing eyes of the current day slash and trash throngs and their insatiable hunger for sleaze and innuendo.
