Private jets are one of the few things that the truly rich can have these days that us poors can't.  Anyone of moderate means can elect to enjoy pretty much any other luxury in the world.

I am super jealous of that.  Travelling via private jet sounds amazing.

Yachts are another one. One bastard bought a yacht on a bet down to Bar Harbor back in the summer of '03. He threw a party for some of the locals just for the hell of it.

I hope they don't get stuck with the stair cars. You look silly driving those things around town.

Gulfstream G650s are demanding a huge premium? Why the hell don't they just buy an Embraer or a CRJ 200? There are other options in that size range, and buying a used aircraft from an airline and stripping it out for a new luxury interior can also be an excellent option as well. Hell, for $70 million, you could get yourself a used 777. Maybe not as fast, but when you install the Jacuzzi, who the hell cares?

Hell, if you don't mind higher maintenance and fuel costs, you can get stuff like 727s for less than a million bucks.

Apparently the wealthy will pay almost any amount of money to avoid flying on United

Which is why the airlines keeping trying to get the TSA and FAA to hassle the passengers on private aircraft and tried to claim that private jets with one rich dude were delaying airliners.
