Gonz: MFAWG: So why were they getting death threats from their own fans?

The fans weren't allowed to attend the match, so they basically told the players "don't play or we'll kill you".

The reason the fans weren't allowed to attend in the first place has to do with the racist, neo-fascist "Ultra" movement in Italian soccer.

Even the most racist dirt-farming dumb motherfarker in the US, in the 1960s, wouldn't threaten to kill the players for his own team.

When the KKK looks at you and says "Whoa, Guido, settle down there", you've got a problem.

Crewmannumber6: So this is like democrats threatening Andy Dalton's life because Mike Brown is a republican? That's weapons grade stupid right there.

Truth. There are plenty of legitimate reasons for threatening Andy Dalton's life.  Three interceptions a week for the last 2 weeks and taking a sack in the end zone in OT for instance.

Gordon Bennett: Livorno ultras are as far from racist and fascist as it is possible to be.

Actually, they are Communists or at least left-wingers, which makes Lazio-Livorno games so much fun to watch!

Gonz: neo-fascist

I was stationed in Italy in the early 80's. Nothing 'Neo' about their fascism. It's old school all the way.
