Subby is still scared of plants

Back in the day I could usually contrive to feel self-conscious if left alone for long enough with a swiss cheese plant.

/nothing is obscure

Maybe babies are reluctant to touch leave-shaped things

Make like a tree and get the hell out of here.

Popeye propaganda must have backfired on subby.

Plants are to be loved, man.
Get up real close and inhale their beauty.

And should be also enjoyed with brussels sprouts with bacon.

I hope lots and lots of babies were scared by scientists testing this hypothesis.

I didn't read the article, but isn't a fear of plants a pretty good survival mechanism for babies?

Scared of plants = won't eat a plant not given to it by mother = baby doesn't poison itself

Pretty much the conclusion in the article. Although children nowadays seem to be fearful of everything in the natural world because they encounter it so little, so i'm not sure if i agree.

Try roasting veggies

I learned that a lot of the veggies I didn't like while growing up was the result of preparation (IE, boiling) which basically strips the nutrients and flavors from a lot of veggies.

Brussels sprouts roasted with mushrooms and bacon

Served with spaghetti and meatballs, and french bread (with a spread made of butter, garlic and sun dried tomatoes)

Brussel sprouts are nasty. Hated them as a kid, can't stand them as an adult.

Spinach, however, is awesome.

Wife is an Indian vegetarian. She hates salad. Turns out that veggies are tasty when you don't boil or steam them.

Children with cancer should be taking it via oil. Smoking it kinda defeats the anti-cancer purpose by, you know, adding carcinogens.

brussels sprouts aren't bad if prepared properly. Subby sounds like a lousy cook.

Brussels sprouts coated in olive oil, black pepper and salt, then baked at 350 for 20 minutes (turning once during cooking) then topped with freshly shredded parmigiano is delicious.
