So, how many employees were there?

2013-11-12 05:31:18 PM
Sounds like the 7-11 employees are getting what they deserve.

Being stripped naked and beaten? Sounds like an appropriate response to someone attempting to steal a candy bar.

They didn't really strip him naked. He was trying to run away (for some reason), and his clothes were torn off as he tried to leave.

I'm pretty sure 7-11 has policies in place to prevent employees from physically restraining shoplifters. They should all have been fired.

From a 7-11? It's a franchise. If it cost to much the store just goes bankrupt.

They should have been fired and this guy should have had an appointment the following day with a 7-11 attorney offering him a settlement.

Who was watching the register while they were wrestling over a candy bar? Looked like a lot of folks in there and I'll bet that a whole lot more than just a candy bar went missing.

And where do you think the franchise's training comes from? The corporate entity is likely just as liable

For what? Do you think that is the appropriate response to somebody stealing a candy bar? From the sounds of it, they didn't even find a candy bar. I'm wondering why the employees that took part in this weren't arrested.

Unfortunately for them, and perhaps yourself, pathetic  shoplifters don't get to decide policy in my store. I decide policy in my store. And if my policy is "no shoplifting" then fark shoplifters.

So you think this is ok? Even when it isn't even clear if the guy stole anything? Because you think somebody stole something doesn't give you the right to jump them

one of the employees who attacked Golson was fired. The other two were made to take further training in safety and security procedures.

Sound like he keeps saying "I didn't take nothing else" so I assume they caught him trying to take the snickers and then just kept going after him. He actually seems really casual about being stripped and assaulted because I guess he knows he did try shoplifting. If it was me (and I assume most people who didn't commit a crime) I would've been violent instead of just trying to walk away and saying "he's biting me"

Also I don't think 15k views on youtube qualifies as viral

2013-11-12 07:01:10 PM
Even if he  had stolen a candy bar, the employees had no right to do what they did. I hope the next alleged shoplifter they "confront" like that is armed.
