Wil wuz robbed!
2001-12-05 07:56:28 AM
The Heisman is nothing more than a regional popularity contest anyway. Pffffffffffft.
2001-12-05 08:23:32 AM
that sucks they probably thought it was hacked, god damn idiot ex-jocks running espn.
2001-12-05 08:43:55 AM
If that 5th player isn't Antwaan Randle-El, I've lost all respect for the Heisman process.
2001-12-05 08:58:01 AM
Chester Taylor from U of Toledo should get the nod, and the hardware... Best Back in the country!
2001-12-05 09:11:13 AM
Where the hell is Randle-El?
Secondly, although he can't win, go Kittner!
2001-12-05 09:20:11 AM
Grossman would have won it if Fla had come through and beat the Vols. But nope.
2001-12-05 09:23:34 AM
Fark article title, not funny.
2001-12-05 09:50:33 AM
Randle-El is not there cause nobody has seen him play, save high-light reels. I heard all about this guy last year, this year, but all I get is 15 seconds during the afternoon SportsCenter. The other guys all play on TV every weekend.

Mark my words... Rex will still win the Heisman...

Go Gators!
2001-12-05 10:24:39 AM
Gators? Their still around? God you just can't get rid of a bad rash can ya?
2001-12-05 10:29:57 AM
Ok, so losing to Tennessee at home wasn't our finest hour. Luckily basketball season is underway. Gators #4.

Go Gators!
2001-12-05 10:48:05 AM
Wil just can't win...I think I will cry and be depressed....
2001-12-05 10:53:56 AM
Yeah, go figure. He doesn't play college football.

Fb-: You gotta have sex (with FEMALES) to father children too, but that doesn't stop you from claiming trophies...
2001-12-05 11:36:48 AM
Ok, TWO things are getting old:

1) "Fb- is the father"
2) Wil Wheaton being nominated/signed up for stuff

GRANTED - I cannot think of anything funnier that will take their places at the moment, but the gag is getting realllllllllly old ...

Homsar, i scrolled down this far, so I'm still going to post, but yeah, what homsar said. what is your people's sick frickin obsession with wil wheaton.
2001-12-05 11:41:55 AM
It would be more fun to watch Joey Heatherton running for the Heisman instead of Joey Harrington
2001-12-05 12:02:47 PM
Wil Wheaton is your father deal with it.
2001-12-05 12:14:39 PM
I can understand a female fascination with Wil, but if you are a guy and you love Wil you are gay. I don't care how big of a Star Trek fan you are, if any male has a sick facination with another male (even in sports) you want tube steak between the lips.
2001-12-05 12:42:46 PM
It's great to watch Spurrier whine and throw his visor, if even for only one day. I can't stand Florida.

That said, Grossman took a beating hard last Saturday and he's still the man.
2001-12-05 01:00:30 PM
Antwaan Randle El of Indiana University is the only player in NCAA history to throw and rush for over 40 touchdowns in a career if I'm not mistaken.
He is going to be a great player in the N.F.L. if he ends up getting drafted by a team that uses his talent to it's highest potential.
He sure would look nice in a Chicago Bears uniform.
2001-12-05 01:16:41 PM
Randal El is an overrated. They played one ranked opponent and ended up 5-6. He put up stats against a weak schedule the whole time he was at Indiana. That's why he's not a Heisman finalist.
2001-12-05 01:22:07 PM
Uh, I mean, he's overrated, not an overrated. Though he is an overrated something. Just not sure what.
2001-12-05 01:47:13 PM
I echo the previous sentiments: Go Kittner and Randle El!

Speaking of college football, if Tennessee loses and Nebraska gets in the Rose Bowl, I will be pissed.
2001-12-05 02:04:24 PM
Rex will not win the Heisman. He's a soph. No way. Maybe, MAYBE if he had kicked Tenn ass in freakin GAINSVILLE, then maybe.

No way the Huskers make the Rose either, I think. It really should be Colorado. Even though I do like the Huskers.

Hey Hardyz1: Who's going to win at Vengence? Matt or Jeff? Jeff is the obvious choice.
2001-12-05 02:13:40 PM
Hahaha, well said Imabmf
2001-12-05 02:22:04 PM
What? Wil is the most prolific player in NCAA history, this is a travesty. JUST LOOK AT HIS STATS THEY SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!!!!
2001-12-05 03:18:22 PM
2001-12-05 04:15:10 PM
who the hell is wil wheaton
2001-12-05 05:00:04 PM
Crouch for the Heisman. What other quaterback do you know that is willing to run down the middle of field, and can run over most linebackers.
As far as the national championship goes, if the Huskers get into the Rose bowl it will be a happy day here in Nebraska, if not we will root for Colorado because Miami is just terrible, they should have lost 2 games as well and got really lucky...
2001-12-05 07:23:09 PM
Antwaan Randle-El is THE MAN let's face it there was NO ONE better than him this year even though his team didn't have a winning record he was still the best player in the nation
2001-12-05 10:46:15 PM
"Crouch for the Heisman. What other quarterback do you know" of that could even be considered for the Heisman that my mom could throw better left-handed than?
Pretty good running back though.
Opening training day at NU football camp:
"Ok everyone we have our 12 running backs decided. Now, which of you remaining has ever thrown a football or at least understand the crazy concept of the forward pass? Ok fine then, you are our new starting quarterback. Next question. Who has actually caught a football? You are now playing the down field blocking position."
2001-12-05 11:49:17 PM
I'm a Nebraska fan, but I'm hoping Tennessee wins this weekend. After the last "co-championship" that Nebraska had, I'd rather avoid the immense controversy that Nebraska playing in the Rose Bowl would create.
