Three of these greenlit in in as many weeks? Where's the [Sponsored Link] text?

I want the next headline about Improv Everywhere to include the phrase "....mowed down by a car driven by a confused elderly driver."

THAT'S WHAT I SAID!!!

How long did IA hold up the 10,000 other tourists waiting in line to do this same thing?

2013-11-12 02:36:05 PM
BTW:  Not tourists waiting in line at the counter.  Tourists waiting in line at THIS TABLE to do their own version.  On weekends the line sometimes goes out the door.  (NOT for food... for the table!)

Yep. I generally like IE's work, but this is ridiculous. IE links, meet BuzzFeed, Uproxx, and a few other sources in my "don't bother clicking on, even if I might otherwise be interested in it" list.

If you have Adblock Plus, you can do what I do and block the link image, so while you see the headline there isn't anything to click. And ABP blocks the paid Buzzfeed links, so I still see a few from the regular queue.

It would have been nicer if the wimmins in the shoot were even remotely attractive.

So in other words, this is like last week's IE post, and not all that great? That's the problem with taking something low scale and making it popular with the world. Suddenly, there's constant pressure for new material to stay relevant, and they just start cranking out garbage, rather than waiting for random great ideas like they used to .

"This was staged without the knowledge of the restaurant, though thankfully they all seemed to love it. "

When I went there they (restaurant staff) all seemed to hate everything and everybody. It was one of those 'never meet your hero' moments, but for a location.

Also, what Mikey1969 said.

I'm sure management was thrilled about it, but that excitement probably didn't trickle down to the cooks, servers, and dishwashers.

I have an ACTUAL screaming orgasm every time I eat their pastrami on rye.  It is one of the few legendary sandwiches that are actually as good or better than advertised.

I don't think it counts where there are more of THEM than actual real people at the place!

What was that, 200 "Improv" people and 2 elderly couples and the janitor in the place?

It's as good as any cracked.com link.  Which is to say that someone had to pay fark to link it.  So draw your conclusions where you like.

LOL, good analogy, I guess, since Cracked has some winners every now and then, too...

That was my experience last summer, exactly. I found New Yorkers to be nothing like the old rude stereotype - except for my server at Katz's Delicatessen. If I ever go back, I'll just grab that amazing sandwich to go.

It's a delicatessen, jews don't orgasm, that's a fact.  I call shenanigans

Wake me up when they do TBL and go up to a random new Red Corvette and start smashing it in the middle of a street.

And IMO, probably some of the best one's they've have been when they surprised kids..... the Merry-Go-Round horse race, the little league baseball game when they were doing a pilot with NBC and two of my favorite one's.

Honestly, I think that is maybe when it started to go down hill really... they got their shot at a pilot, it didn't get picked up, and now they are in the "ok, now what" mode.

Their "Best gig ever"  was pretty awesome and clever.  But, that was like 10 years ago.

Improv

Came in to say this. If they're recreating a scene, it's not really improvisation anymore, it's a re-enactment.

They've never actually been "improv"; they acknowledge as much in their FAQ and wish they could go back in time and change their name.

Unfortunately, they used to be entertaining and occasionally were funny to boot. I can also remember a time when the "everywhere" part was true, but I think a lot of local organizers simply weren't prepared to put on a show with the level of planning and support structure that these guys have.

Who invited Betsy from accounting? She's not funny and she's not cute. The rest of them are. From now on, don't tell Betsy where we're going.

The women were unattractive and gross so I was mostly disgusted.
