Because unless I missed it, I can't remember the last time Microsoft stock was rated at anything less than a buy and the the company's performance was rated as "outperform". Microsoft still makes billions in profits annually. Can't see what the problem is if Ballmer is making money.

I could do some real damage with $1.7B.  Like buy a jetski made out of strippers or something.

Well, duh. That has to be the dumbest article I've seen - "Major stockholder makes more money when company's stock value goes up, even though he doesn't work at the company!"

The morons that buy into the "Steve Ballmer is an idiot" meme are constantly surprised when, despite their best efforts, he persists in being, well, not an idiot.

He better declare that or they may cut off this unemployment benefits.

I think this might be John Loria's long term strategy too.

It's hard to score 800 on the math part of the SAT and still be an idiot.

If you can't see the problem, try using their products.

Don't they take away points depending on your performance in the chair-hurl?

I'm just a simple man who would live a simple life. All I would need is my solid gold house and my rocket car and my trampoline made out of the world's largest cheese wheel.

Why don't you just say what the problem is? For the most part Windows OS and Office sells and makes the company money. So what problem am I supposed to see?

Steve Ballmer is not an idiot.  Neither is Noam Chomsky.  If I were a shareholder, I wouldn't want either to be installed as CEO.

Because People in power are Stupid: Developers, developers, developers.

Ironically enough, the biggest issue that Windows Phone currently faces is a lack of developers. He may have looked silly doing the dance, but he wasn't exactly wrong.

As opposed to not using products that make you want to rip your hair out and scream. (Come to think of it, that's probably what happened to Steve Ballmer.)

I see you've escaped from Linuxworld to spout off about nonsense. Whatever.

Microsoft products make you pull your hair out and scream. Linux makes you wish you'd never been born.

Their profits come from product lines 30+ years old.  And year after year their share of those markets decline.  And investments in new products have been colossal failures.  They lose billions a year in almost every new venture they've started in the last decade.  The xbox may be an exception to that but they are royally fark'n up the Xbox One release.

See now?

Oh, that explains why their stock is up 7% in less than a month. Because investors don't see increased future growth potential--wait, what?

I use WP, W8.1, and Office, and I have no problem.
/Hell I surf Fark from my iPad from time to time, so I'm not bias
//Instead of getting my brother to join in on WP, I told him to stick with Android' ecosystem (Droid to SG4)

Turns out when you free a company of the 300lb albatross around its neck, it rallies. Ballmer squandered an entire industry to Apple just to make MS his vanity project. I'm a good CEO, I'm a good CEO.

No Steve, you were not.
