The problem with Benghazi is that people aren't really interested as to why it happened and how can it be resolved. The real problem is that people want to blame bureaucracy more than they want to blame the actual people who did the attacks.

The Daily Show kicked off the week last night by blasting 60 Minutes for the bullsh*t Benghazi report - which was done by Lara Logan and her heaving breasts

I mean I know you want to be all edgy Uproxx, but you should probably chill on making misogynistic comments about a woman who was gangraped in Egypt during the protests.

Or ignore the fact that immediately after the attack a local militia group along with thousands of protestors, went after the group responsible for the attack and went all farking scorched earth on their compound. Or also ignore that the group that performed the attack is connected to Ansar and has attacked the Benghazi compound in the past. AND ignore that the state department has had its budgets cut forcing it to reduce security across all embassies in the world.

But like always, its easier to join in the partisan hackery than actually you know, pay attention to the facts of the story

It's hard, if not impossible to do anything about the actual people that did the attacks. You can however hold the bureaucracy responsible for not being prepared for such situations.

Let me help The Muthaship.

HURR DERR "Acts of Terror" v. "Terrorist Acts" in the Rose Garden.

Or "They claimed it was a video that started it!"  HURR DERR (which, once intel changed, they changed the story).

There, was that so hard to lie about Obama's lies?

C'mon The Muthaship, you don't have to shy away from lying.  It's in your nature.  Just let it out.  Let the butthurt guide your lies in a way that is natural, comforting, and uplifting.

The whole Benghazi narrative is more about "who" than "what". It's the butthurt, sore loser right making a mountain from a molehill so they can satiate their Obama Derangement Syndrome with their phoney outrage, their feigned concern over the deceased and creating a boogeyman to use against Hillary should she decide to run in 2016.

This has nothing to do with the dead people, it's about Obama. Period.

You know, that's one of the things that's really bad about the Republican Party turning the keys over to the Teabaggers and turning into the All Derp All The Time party; they're really ceased to be an effective and serious opposition party. There probably were important questions to be asked about what happened at Benghazi, but they immediately turned it into being all about nailing 0bummer, thus immediately ending the credibility their efforts to investigate this may have had.

It's a repeat of the McCarthy Communist witch hunt in the 1950's which was basically the same thing. There WAS enemy infiltration into our government, but McCarthy demogouged it so badly that he turned into a circus and essentially ruined any credibility any serious investigation might have had. What should have been a vital part of our national security was turned into a punch line. The difference, however, is that a poorly protected embassy is less of a threat to our overall national security than stolen plans on how to make atomic bombs.

I'm still somewhat puzzled that the GOP is sticking with the ridiculous "cover-up" narrative, when they could have just focused on the fact that embassy security and extraction procedures were unforgivably lax in the first place (and got people killed) and actually been in the right about something for once.

Really? Looking at embassy security would require them to address the funding for State. Nobody in the Republican Party wants to do that.

I'm not sure you can really fault extraction procedures in this event.

Because they were the ones that cut the budget that caused the lax  security.  They have to save their own ass on that one.

See, if the GOP actually focused on the lax security, it might lead them to examine why the security was lax, and realise it was their own budget cuts that caused security to be lax in the first place. They'd essentially be blaming themselves, and as we all know, the Republicans are singularly incapable of admitting fault, ever.

So, conspiracy theory it is!

The administration initially "lied" about the attack stemming from a protest rather than a directed attack from terrorist cells operating in the area.

Now that we've got that cleared up, will you or one of your ilk please enlighten us as to why in God's green farking earth that's important?

Not to mention that it appears on the CIA-BS network.
