There's a student-run seminar occurring where they will discuss why we watch porn. And someone involved in the industry will speak.

Outraged yet?

The very idea that human beings copulate.

When I was at UMD we had a screening of "Deep Throat" with a speaker panel featuring Ron Jeremy following. So, no?

I noticed you conveniently glossed over the worst part:

Snacks will be provided at the event.

I have standards.

If it wasn't, how would we be outraged?

The outrage is mandatory, ergo Yale is public.

Huh.  How about that.

There doesn't seem to be any outrage in the article. It's just pointing out the existence. Subby ginned it up. There quite literally is nothing to get worked up about.

aaand scene!

notice, class, that this same logic applies to many conservative principles. for instance, we know for a fact that the earth is 6,000 years old; we simply have to find evidence to support it, excluding all other information that does not.

Did the Bush family turn Yale into a public university or a pubic university or in this case, both?

Tough to say.  One thing we do know, subby actually clicked the link and gave NRO ad revenue.  He didn't get there from Media Matters since there is no actual outrage, so subby made a conscious effort to go to NRO and give then ad revenue.  If subby is silly enough to give NRO ad revenue, he's probably silly enough to be outraged.

Private university hosts guest lecture about porn. Students aren't minors and there were no tax dollars involved. Author needs to get laid.

This would never have happened under a white President.

I was under the impression that all non-public universities were ideal paragons of education who can do nothing wrong and are perfect institutions through-and-through.

Or is that just for-profit universities?

This is pathetic. This drool of smegma is what remains of the once noble National Review. This was once a globally respected publication, and no, I am not just a senile old man spinning tales, it's true.

They don't believe me. I can tell they're laughing. If i was them, I wouldn't believe me either.

That recent 75-year longitudinal study about men revealed that conservative men give sex up in their early 60's, so it's not surprising that a magazine catering to the frightened old guy in suspenders and a battleship branded baseball cap on it gets uncomfortable with these things.

The very idea of college aged women watching porn enrages me!

I think that's the right word, "enrages." Lemme double check...

Oh, no, sorry, I meant to say it "engorges" me. Engorges.

Quite common.
I observed a similar debate on the nearby Southern Conn St. Univ campus almost 30 years ago.

Except this time it was with then "Screw" magazine owner, Al Goldstein.

He would have won easily too, if he didn't attempt to be so crude.
The ultra-feminist that debated him was not well taken.

I find that most don't mind "pro-sex" or "sex-positive" philosophy, as long as you aren't unnecessarily obnoxious.

He lost his audience, trying to prove a point.

I'm a fairly liberal guy, but you'll never be able to convince me that there's anything liberating about taking dick on camera for money.

Man they would be really upset if they knew that when I was in college I took a woman's studies course (easy humanities credit fulfillment) where the lesbian teacher actually showed us pornography all the time including an instructional video on how a woman ejaculates, a documentary about the first woman who underwent a sex change, and then porn that was every variation of sexual orientation going at it where we basically would compare and contrast different types of porn in relationship to their target audience.

It was a weird class and not what I was expecting, but it was an easy class where I got to write papers about porn which I could then use in my philosophy class when we discussed ethics and morality.

When people argue what the difference between porn and prostitution is, it's usually about 4".

They are taking Grade A USDA approved dick and most certainly liking it.

Unless they want to drink a beer or put a nickel in a slot machine, in which case we must treat them like eight year olds.

I'm not clicking on this link, but Yale is in some serious hot water over their lack of TItle IX policies regarding sexual violence and rape on campus, so they're probably trying to fix that.

I think the Dept of Ed is still investigating them

Is it more money than working a McJob? Is it getting your food for your kids?

No one grows up and says "I want to be a porn star". Sometimes, it happens.

I really don't know either, although some of those girls sound like they really REALLY love their job in interviews.  But I'm not those women(and men), so I'm not going to say it can or can't be.  If it floats their boats, that's they're business.  After watching "After Porn Ends" calling every girl in porn damaged just doesn't seem right.
