Good.
Used to be bartender at a club where he performed a couple of times.
What an asshole.

/ that second one might actually be a sketch comedy show for all I know.

He had his moments but I don't think he can anchor a whole show.... he might make a good comedic "special guest villain"

Yeah he's not good. His delivery is too mediocre.

I didn't care for the show when I saw it, mainly because I love Jeff Ross and thought it was too close to "The Burn."  There was no way that CC was going to keep both.

Now it looks like they both been dumped in favor of the crappy show with the unfunny guy from Singled Out.

Proof.

Proof that there is no god, or at least, no god that involves itself in the affairs of mankind.

If there was such a god, an Abrahamic god, Anthony Jeselnik would NEVER have gotten to fark Amy Schumer.

I liked Schumer's first season, but this is the correct order.  As a solid 90's goth, I made some interesting noises of real air loss during the Sexy Vampires skit a couple weeks back.

And I never get tired of the football teams.

I imagine a Venn diagram of his fans and Dane Cook's fans would probably have significant overlap.

Comedy Central probably thought they had the next Daniel Tosh with him, but it was not to be.  His stand-up is pretty good, but that doesn't necessarily translate to a good TV show - see Jim Jeffries.

Actually, Key and Peele > [Amy Schumer + Anthony Jeselnik + Jeff Ross]. That's why I left them out of my original equation.

Tosh's entire act is related, yet very different. He finds the funny side in anything people do - whether they do something silly, embarrassing, or cruel. It's kind of an "okay dummy... step back and imagine how much differently you would have acted with an audience of five million people."

NuttierThanEver: They need to bring back Upright Citizens Brigade

One of the greatest tragedies in American history is that Season 3 of Upright Citizens Brigade has never been released in any format.

COMEDY CENTRAL since they cancelled MST3K.

I thought Anthony's bits were pretty funny.  Panel was always pretty awesome.  He had some great guests on.  Things like this always confuse me.  It wasn't a home run so they cancel it to free up the resources to create something that is invariably much worse.

The style for the show seemed at odds for the one-liner delivery of his comedy.

I thought the burn was basically him roasting in a different format. However, I would agree that his standup isn't that great.

What a bunch of farking morans in this thread.  That show was far and away the funniest thing on CC, and possibly all of TV.  Go back to your watered down Community bullshiat, losers.

2013-11-11 01:21:29 PM
Also, I think Amy Schumer is funny, but she falls back too much on the 'look how much of a slut I am' type humor.  Like anything, it's not as funny if you keep using it.

Jeselnik was basically doing Daniel Tosh's bit on Jeff Ross' format. Nothing original about it, and Jeselnik is kind of a douchebag.

I don't really know why, but after seeing Jeselnik's show for a total of 2 minutes I felt an unnatural urge to punch his face.

I never liked Giraldo, but of the regulars for those shiat-fests, Ross stands out as the pro among amateurs, when he gets a chance.  Lampanelli is better than she looks, but she tied herself to an ugly schtick.  One of the best ever on those things was Mike Tyson - he genuinely killed.

Does this mean they'll be able to air more Brickleberry?

That's not what your mom said. Wait, that doesn't sound right.

Anyway, I do want to see Schumer branch out more. I've enjoyed the slut comedy or at least her delivery of it, but I'd like to think she could expand well beyond that. She seems like she'd be great girlfriend material, but I typically go for straight women types so I can be the more obvious funny (or perhaps just more needy) one.

I thought Panel was the paneliest panel that ever panelled, but the rest of the show didn't have the same impact on me.

2013-11-11 01:51:10 PM
I liked Jeselnik until I heard him interviewed on a podcast. He thinks he's way funnier than he is, and he's really serious about his dick jokes. It's weird.

She kills when she's on Joe Rogan's podcast or any of the Icehouse Chronicles. She's quick-witted and naturally funny, but I think just does the same bit too often on her show.

Saw him in SF about two weeks ago. He told the audience he found out it had been cancelled just a few hours prior to the show.  One of the best standup shows I've ever seen. He has no mercy. We were rolling.

I liked the Jeselnik Offensive, what can I say. I also love the CC Roasts and Brickleberry.

I know that isn't in line with official policy, but I likes what I likes.

2013-11-11 02:23:57 PM
My girlfriend won free tickets to his show here.  His stand-up is pretty good, and he's rapid-fire with the audience banter.  I liked the show, and am sad to see it go, but the format was a bit rigid and repetitive.
