The sane people need to have friendly divorces from the D's and the R's, and form a party that the middle 50 percent can vote for.

If the farking Democrats would just take 2 giant steps back to the left, you'd have that.

Here they go, eating each other. In 2016, it'll be hugs and kisses as they have to pretend to like a guy they blaster for 3 years.

True, but among the type of people who would be friends of Rick Perry, that's probably considered a compliment.

Christie signed 10 new gun control measures into law this year, supports gay rights....

Doe he really? He at least sees the bullsh*t with "gay conversion therapy" and backed off a legal challenge to the new gay marriage law in NJ, so I guess in a Republican context he sort of does. In any other reality, Christie is not exactly an ardent supporter of gay rights.

A centrist party that would believe in:

Open to both spending cuts and tax increases to fix the long term debt problems.

One that believes government shouldn't be involved with moral issues about people lives?

One that believe some government regulation are needed to make everyone play fair but too much can be a bad thing?

One that believe that we need some basic safety net for people when things get rough but shouldn't provide everything?

So you mean a party like the Democratic party then!! I bet you are one of those who agree on everything the Democrats believe in but once you hear "Democrats" you start freaking out because you buy into all the GOP BS about what they stand for. I know a few people like that who agree with like 95% of the Democratic party but still refuse to vote for them.

As always... a false equivalency.

You don't see or hear Democrats trying to "out-liberal" each other - trying to say that one is more or less liberal than another, or have betrayed their beliefs because of a certain vote. And it isn't because there is anything wrong with a liberal position - it's because the well-being of our nation depends on two sides working together.

Anytime a bunch of Republicans get together and argue with each other about who is more conservative than whom - any sane person should simply hear "I never want to work with anyone else - it's my way or the highway." That isn't democracy... that isn't even politics. It's absolutism.

It's a trait that could be admirable from a football coach or from a church leader. It should never be a trait anyone desires from an elected official.

FTFA "We're all different states," added Perry, also a 2016 hopeful. "Is a conservative in New Jersey a conservative in the rest of the country?"

And by this rational, if Perry is a conservative in Texas, what is he in the rest of the country?

Consider the attitude his friends likely take to all that libby-lib-lib intellectualism and book-learning.

Obviously they mean it as a compliment.

It boggles my mind that Rick Perry wasn't laughed out of office following his 2012 campaign, never mind the idea that he is a 2016 hopeful. Does they not remember how inept this guy was?

It was just like when Homer Simpson was Dancing Homer for the Springfield Isotopes. Sure, the people there loved it, but when he got the call up to Capital City, he crashed and burned.

As a New Jersey resident, I like Chris Christie, he is a big change from what we have had as governors over the past 2 decades, Florio, Whitman, McGreevy, Corzine and I like his style. Not typical political BS that we are used to seeing and hearing.

Is he a conservative, is he conservative enough? I don't know. I do believe he shares the same conservative beliefs that all conservatives have, I just think he is a little bit more willing to compromise as long as he gets most of he wants, not everything he wants. To me that shows leadership and that wants to keep things moving in a 'right' direction.

As for the presidency, I would support and vote for him in the primaries and of course for president. But I believe he should sit it out and challenge Bob Menendez in the US Senate. I think he could unseat him and would be more useful the NJ and the US as whole by knocking out the most corrupt senator in the senate.

I came in here for that, too.  Christie vetoed gay marriage early last year and fought it in the courts for a year and a half.  He's not adamantly anti-gay like the Teajadists but he's not exactly a supporter.

It is really getting to the point where either the GOP is going to succomb to the forces of a truly democratic process and sail off into history, or they have to make the next logical step and seize power and end our democratic way of life.  Because, right now it appears that you can not run as a republican in an election unless you are by any reasonable person's judgment,   insane.
