That episode had my girlfriend going apeshiat the whole time. It also seemed much longer than usual. Sometimes they seem to be 60/40 in favor of commercials whereas last night I kept looking at my watch HOPING it would end so that no crazy shiat could happen.

Great episode.

I think they are misstating it a bit. It is the first time he has had to kill a walker that he had known in life.

Is anyone else having a hard time getting into the show this season? I have watched from the beginning and there is nothing about this season that I find particularly irritating, but I have a hard time getting motivated to watch now. I am not sure if it is the show or if it is just me. I seem to only be in a half-hour comedy mood these days, so it may not be anything about the show.

or that he had to stab in the face.

also, whoever was feeding mice to the walkers was doing it from the inside of the fence. seems sort of tarded for the gov to climb or sneak in, feed them thru the fence then sneak back out. Would have been easier to just throw injured critters near the fence sort of like Rick did with the pigs.

This.

Why are the journalists the last to figure shiat out. It was obvious those mice were between the fences which indicates someone inside the prision was feeding them.

Now it is a possibility someone inside the prison was working with Govenor, but it wasn't the Gov himself feeding mice to the walkers.

It was a little slow getting going, but last night was pretty intense.  Scott Wilson put in one hell of a performance.  Really thought Glenn or Hershel would buy it.  Glad the epidemic story-line is winding down though.

Maybe the guv loaded mice into an air gun and shot them over the fence. OK, probably not.

Again, the more I think about it, the fact that only Rick and Carl could take down the (apparently) largest mass of walkers the prison has seen in a short amount of time using their arsenal of weapons to the point that the landscape around the prison is (apparently) peaceful, is really starting to bug me.

-- Why spend so much time and effort poking heads through the fences?
-- So, every single walker in the tri-state area formed a sort-of single file line through the hole in the fence...and now they are all gone...because Rick sure didn't seem to be in ANY hurry to bother with fence repairs. And again, if this is the case...that all it took was for this emergency to happen to get only two people to spend some time with weaponry to take down the horde...it goes back to wasting a LOT of time an effort spent of poking heads. Or driving around with dead piglets.

Because gunshots attract more zombies.  They were already dealing with a rather large herd (at least for the fence).  By shooting them all, they would probably attract many many more from the woods that we don't see.

What I couldn't figure out, is that there's supposed to be all these other people in the prison. Yet it was just Carl and Rick out there. It's like all the new people are incapable of taking down walkers. Seems like that would be an important job, laying waste to every walker within a five mile radius of the prison. But no, let's let them push on the fence, wander around in/near our water supply, let little kids try to turn them into pets. It's like mindless flesh eating creatures that tend to form up into herds are thought of as harmless little kittens.

Carol was gone.  Darryl, Tyrese, Michonne and 4-Dog were out.  Glenn, Herschel and the extras were in Death Row and Maggie was there helping.  Beth was with the baby.  There was no one left.

I hope not. Making D'Angelo Barksdale the Mole seems like such a waste of a potential character. Gilliard is a great actor I would love to see actually be developed into part of the core group eventually once the "demon in a bottle" drama is resolved.

2013-11-11 10:33:05 AM
Even before Rick and Carl the only ones fighting back the zombies, Maggie was the only one out there stabbing walkers through the fence.

The writers brought in all these Woodbury folks and basically ignore they exist until they need a handy walker.

Also, they better hope everyone in quarantine is miraculously no longer contagious, since Maggie shot out the window and destroyed the limited quarantine they had.

Really bad writing this season.  Really bad.

I guess I think somebody would've seen that from the watchtower. It also seems like it would be a pretty dangerous think to do from the other side of the fence. It's not like he could call for help if he got surrounded by walkers.

Yea, that's what I was referring to... They showed it a couple times I think.

But people in this thread seem to be implying it couldn't of been the Gov. just chucking them over the fence, that it had to be an inside job...

No more than if someone was doing it on the inside that they should of been seen too?

It's not as if those towers have working lights, so someone at night could easily do it.

Plus the Gov. has shown he's excellent at hand-to-hand combat, I'm sure he'd be ok.

Lizzie and Mika were feeding the zombies.  I'm still not convinced that Carol killed Karen and the other Redshirt.  I still think Lizzie killed them in an attempt to see them turn into zombies and Carol burned the bodies and took the blame because she felt guilty over giving her the knife and training her to use it.

Rick banishing her just confirms to her that she was right to take the blame.

I'm really disappointed that the Governor is back.  That character should have died last season.

THIS!!  Except I think Lizzie killed them because Carol called her weak.  But I definitely think Carol took the blame so Lizzie wouldn't have to.  Lizzie trying to lure the walker away from Glen shows she's got balls now, and has no problem killing.

Not sure how I feel about the governor..  At the end of last season, I'll admit I wanted him dead and was upset that they ended without tying up that loose end.  It's almost like the writers OWED it to us to kill him, and his arc.  But now, I dunno, I kinda liked seeing him at the end...

I haven't really cared so far that the show hasn't followed the comic, because that would be boring if it followed it page for page.  But two things I hope end up happening  *Spoilers*  The Gov. blowing Herschel's brains out, even though the Governor in the show is less intense and crazy as the comics.  And I want Glenn to take the bat to the brains.  His character was ok to begin with, but now he just annoys me.

That whole Glenn almost dying was the biggest non-cliffhanger ever.  No-one thought he was really going to die and all the drama they tried to generate around it was wasted.

You nailed the problem with the directors and writers. In some dud episodes, you can feel them trying to create suspense and drama and they are just failing miserably. Should have watched more Hitchcock.

The Governor is just outside the prison. How long has he been spying on the group?

I'm not sure. He's always had an idea where the prison was because he may have been there before.

Why are the journalists the last to figure shiat out. It was obvious those mice were between the fences which indicates someone inside the prision was feeding them.

Now it is a possibility someone inside the prison was working with Govenor, but it wasn't the Gov himself feeding mice to the walkers.

There are also clipped up holes in the fences so the survivors can easily get in and out (Carol did this to fix the water hose).  If the Governor has been watching the jail, it's possible he knows where these holes are.

I'm not convinced it was the Governor feeding the walkers, but just saying it's not that difficult to get into the prison unnoticed.

He really doesn't compare well to Andrew Lincoln in that respect. I don't know if I've ever heard any Brit leak into Rick's dialogue.
