and to replace the usual half-time show, here is a special "apology not apology" message from Richie Incognito.  :D

Too bad they couldn't swap this game with the Saints game.  At least that one had a better chance of being exciting.

The worst part of the whole Richie Incognito scandal is now ESPN is trotting him out for interviews like he's some kind of demented choir boy.

The man was kicked out of Nebraska.  Nebraska.

Enough said.  I don't want to see his ugly face any more.  ESPN, it's either him or me.  One of us has to go.

The Saints game WAS exciting.  Nothing gets me on the edge of my seat quite like the Cowboys losing by three touchdowns.  I always want more.  And I got it!

It amazes me that someone could shoot off his mouth with racist insults in the NFL for years...and still be alive.

He is either incredibly tough...or lucky.

I'm sure ESPN (and fans) would love if ESPN could have a 4-6 week leadtime "flex" option for MNF during like weeks 10-16, but, it is one thing to move a game on the same day, and people know to not schedule a flight late Sunday night back home from a road game at 1pm, since the game COULD be moved to prime time SNF.   But, swapping games between Sun 1pm and Mon 8:30pm would cause havoc for fans who have planned road trips 3 months ahead of time with non-refundable hotels & flights, so, unfortunately, I don't see that ever happening.

IMO, league would be better off making MNF a "regional" timeslot as well, much like the "late" window on Sunday (that generally only has 3-4 games to flip between on RZ)... have 2 MNF games scheduled.... everyone with ESPN only gets to see the one for their area, using similar rules to Sunday games (and obviously the "better game" will be seen by most of the country, other than the teams involved in the 2nd game), but, obviously someone with NFL Sunday ticket could watch either one, and maybe Redzone flips between both.  That is about the only way the league could have a better chance of having good games to most people on MNF.

Let's face facts here.  This game, right here, with these guys, is a game of asshole vs. asshole.  Sure, it's different kinds of asshole, between a coach who can't stop encouraging asshole behavior & front office assholes who farked over their starting QB, and just a flat out farked up organization that's okay with the character of Richie Incognito.  Either way though, we're going to feel like Dark Helmet on the deck of Spaceball One by the end of it.

I watched the Bears-Packers game last week and boy was I underwhelmed by the MNF presentation. No wonder NBC gets all the good games.

NBC gets all the good games because it is the "network" prime time game now, and also they have the flex option since it is on the same day as the other games.   MNF got better games when it was on ABC than ESPN/TNT would get on SNF back when it was switched.   But, having the primary prime time game able to have better games "flexed in" is a much better situation.  As others have suggested, I'd say they should move the flexing to start around weeks 8 or 9.... that is late enough in a season that you end up with two (or even one) team that grossly under perform's to that point and have pretty poor records, you can get them out (ie, GB/MIN would have been a prime candidate to move out).

I already mentioned above how they could get better "national" games on MNF, so, I won't repeat that again.

They should just put MNF back on ABC, and keep SNF on NBC. Everyone wins.

ABC doesn't really want it... they were losing money, and they make much more having Dancing with the Stars on ABC, and ESPN having MNF... anyone who really wants to watch MNF probably either (A) gets ESPN or (B) can shell out $5/mo on Verizon to get NFL Mobile.

Honestly, for $20-25 for the NFL season, you get the Thursday and Monday games, and Red Zone.... between that and the fact that you get any other games over local networks, if you are not that into other sports (and I've basically lost interest in baseball over the last 10-15 years, I like to watch some Bulls & NBA games, but, I wouldn't miss it that much, and I don't really watch hockey), you can do the "dump cable" thing for internet streaming, and still get the full NFL fix.  I think I am pretty much going to do it once it is feasible for me to get out of the FIOS contract.

The problem with that is, they'd still get the sometimes good, usually bad selection of games ESPN's always had.  And really, no one wants to see ABC try to pull off MNF with second tier games.

\the only good thing about MNF is that it still gets better games than TNF ever will.

The reason why TNF seems to get more "bad" games is that because it is Thursday night which makes for a short week, EVERY team plays 1 Thursday night game (between weeks 2-15, with the Thanksgiving week having 2 extra games).... those rules don't apply with SNF and MNF.

Honestly, I'd like to see the league move the Thursday night games to weeks 3-16, and give the teams playing their bye the week earlier.   That way, the Thursday night game setup gives them 10 games between their last game (2 "weeks" ago) and the TNF, and then 10 games until their next week's game (same as now).  It would give some teams a much earlier bye, but, I just don't like the "short week", although I guess it is "more fair" now that everyone has a TNF game now, vs. before when only about half the league did (or much earlier when only the Thanksgiving teams did).

I'm curious, the highest Delhomme score I've seen was when Philip Rivers hit a 100.0 on the scale against the Broncos during Peyton's first season with them.  Has anyone exceeded 100.0 since you've been keeping track?

I remember a game some time ago where Kurt Warner had a sprained thumb or something and fumbled several snaps and had an INT or 2. I'm not sure how many fumbles he lost, though. It was back in his STL days, IIRC.

You and everyone who had the Titans in a knockout pool are saying that. The Fark knockout pool got decimated yesterday.

Though on ESPN's pick'em game, the Colts were chosen by a larger percentage of people than Tennessee was.
