She leaves the string in your Bloody Mary.

A good Vodak, Spicy V8, a few olives and a splash of olive juice. Bam. Could drink them all day long.

When we were in DC last year we went to
Ebbitt Grill
www.ebbitt.com/

Had an amazing Old Maryland. Glass rimmed with Old Bay seasoning, with a great big shrimp hanging on the edge, mmmmmm. This was breakfast, right after touring the White House. October, couple of congresscritters sitting at the table next to us, eggs benedict, pumpkin french toast. Now I want breakfast!

In Canada we have the Caesar, which is  (to my understanding) a Bloody Mary with FARKING CLAM JUICE in it.

And people gobble that up. Ugh

Perfect Bloody Mary Recipe

24 oz Tomato juice
2 tsp Freshly grated Horseradish
1.5 oz Lemon Juice
1.5 oz Lime juice
3/4 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp hot sauce
2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 TB Worcestershire Sauce

Take all the ingredients, put them on the bar, and stare at them while you pour yourself a glass of bourbon or rye.

/bartender
//rarely drink before dark

OK, sorry for the threadjack, but bloody mary reminds me of tomato juice which reminds me of Clamato juice, that nasty clam and tomato drink, which then reminded me of some people I know who love that stuff and they also love clamato budwieser. Can you believe this product exists and people consume it?
I had to Google it to verify it was real.

In New Orleans, a BBQ place called The Joint uses BBQ sauce in their mix. Tasty!

I had one called "The Weekender" at an airport once (can't remember which airport but it had a lot of moose decor) and it had all the typical Bloody Mary stuff, including a jumbo shrimp, a hunk of Velveeta, a cocktail sausage, a pear onion and more all on a wooden skewer. I felt kind of sick afterwards. String cheese would have been better than Velveeta.

I was trying to remember the name of the mix I used to use, and that's it.  Their spicy is so good and strong, it lets you add lots of vodka to make it good and strong.  And that's pretty much all I remember.

This^^^

Bloody Marys with Clamato are awesome.

Appalachian Zest Sauce is also a good addition (if you are outside of WV you are SOL, tho).

Floating a couple of teaspoons of stale beer on top makes it perfect. Srsly.

If you have an argument against Bloody Marys, you better back it the fark up and show your work.

Bloody Marys are all about the salad you make on top.

But, I have a few additions:

1) Use a little Dijon Mustard -- this will add some richness that you might dig.
2) Celery Salt, in the mix and/or around the edge (with pepper)
3) Tabasco gives you heat -- but you should be looking for flavor, use a little tabasco and use other hot sauces to round out the flavor
http://www.hotsaucecatalog.com/inner-beauty-hot-hot-sauce/
http://www.the-barbados-shop.com/delish-bajan-hot-pepper-sauce/

4) fresh horseraddish is better than stuff in a jar
5) you don't need to overdue it -- pedestrians make it extremely spice, make if flavorful first.

Haters just never had a GOOD one...which are hard to come by.Try making your own sometime with fresh tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cayenne, and all the fixings--quite delicious AND good for you, minus the vodka.Like Caesars as well.Wisconsin has the BMs with the huge stack of food/garnish on top. It looks quite delicious, but the drink SUCKS, never had a good BM in Wisconsin. They often serve it with a beer chaser, about 6 oz pour of your choice, which I do like.

Our bar received a shipment of Bakon vodak my mistake. It smelled just like Beggin' Strips. We made the fark out of some Bloody Marys that summer.

Well then, you need to try the Bloodys at Mickey's Tavern in Madison, or Guu's and The Hilltop in Stevens Point, all damned tasty.

This is what I've tried -- home made at a bar in Ogunquit, Maine -- i thought it was way too heavy.  I'm guessing there
is a lighter version that could be made and wouldn't feel like a brick in your stomach -- but I couldn't handle this
in a bloody.

(I'd try your shot, though)

Wow, that sounds revolting... let me guess, the secret ingredients are tomato juice and horseradish!

Bacon and chocolate don't belong together. I recently went to a bacon cookoff-type event in Brooklyn and was nonplussed by every single bacon/chocolate dessert. Just stop.

No no no. It wasn't in a Bloody Mary, so no horseradish or tomato involved. It was a shot and believe it or not it didn't taste too bad. Nothing I'd order regularly, but a tasty novelty shot. It was like the first time I had a Brown Cow (Milk, Coke, sugar and Kahlua (syrup optional)). Sounded like shiat, but tasted pretty good.

In Alaska they have this locally-produced salmon-flavored vodak, which tastes terrible by itself but makes a killer BM. They have it at many bars in Anchorage but you have to ask. It's also available in the 48 states.
