Do you think the interviewer had him under pressure to say something like that?

Flowers at least sent him a note that said, simply, "wham bam thank you ma'am."

The Killers have been around long enough for a greatest-hits album?  And they have 16 hits?

I could name three of their songs off the top of my head. Somebody Told Me, When You Were Young and...okay maybe two.

There's the acoustic version and the techno remix for both. So we're up to 6 now.

I had to check. It's 18 tracks. Two are remixes. Of songs already on the album. The other two are new songs recorded to fill out the Contractually Obligated Greatest Hits Album. And like four songs were off of Hot Fuss.

Off topic, the Arctic Monkeys song Do I Wanna Know sounds alot like a Jimi Hendrix song that I cannot place my finger on. Maybe fark can help me figure out which Hendrix song it is, cuz it's been killing me since I first heard it.

Oh yeah, I actually like that one, just legitimately forgot about it. We used to hear that all the time in clubs back in college.

We also took the bassline from a David Bowie song called 'Slow Burn', from 'Heathen', although enough time has probably passed now that I think he probably won't sue us!"

I love the Arctic Monkeys, but they ripped the fark off Black Sabbath for Arabella on their new album. Like, they should actually pay royalties. It sounds just like War Pigs. Still one of my favourite bands. Actually both.

There is one riff that I hear over and over, if very slightly altered.  It is more of a "beat" riff, if that makes any sense. Here are the songs in chronological order, as best I can remember hearing it and as best as I can remember the titles:

Some really old Billie Holiday era singer used it, I can't remember the name, my wife listened to it.

Then, Adam Ant and Goodie Two Shoes.

Iggy Pop and Lust for Life.

The Orb around 1996 in a song I don't know the title of.

Jet in Are You Gonna Be My Girl.

There are others. . .

"All These Things that I've Done" is their biggest hit? I can't even call it to mind. And that's not because I'm too fawncy for the Killers. I have Hot Fuss, and always thought "Mr Brightside" was their biggest hit. Or that goofy Dancer song.

I liked  Hot Fuss and I still listen to it every once in a while, but even at the time, I remember thinking they seemed like the kind of band who'd never top their debut album.  I haven't gotten around to any of their other releases, and I've never read or heard anything to make me think I'm missing out.

I love "All These Things That I've Done" for two reasons - one, I have a weakness for really anthemic-sounding rock songs, and two, it's hilarious.  Every line in the song is delivered like Flowers thinks he's making some kind of profound statement, but if you actually pay attention to the lyrics, they don't mean anything at all.  The "time, truth, hearts" part cracks me up every time.  If I thought this band had any kind of sense of humor about themselves, I'd assume they did it on purpose.

I like "Human" but it bothers me that the chorus is "Are we human or are we dancer?"  I want to mentally stick an S in there.
