Damn, it only took them 3 paragraphs to godwin the thing.

In the call late last month, Mr. Winkler defended his decision, comparing it to the self-censorship by foreign news bureaus trying to preserve their ability to report inside Nazi-era Germany, according to Bloomberg employees familiar with the discussion.

Well its not like this is new, just like the shiat CNN took a year ago, the problem is can you live with your choices?

I dont think I could make those choices, mainly because I have a conscience.

This just in: when a state run economy moves towards privatization, connections with the government pay off in a big way. More from Ric Romero at 11.

I have been assured by a multitude of CNN commenters (who are in no part employed by the Chinese government) that the USA is as corrupt as China and because of NSA spying we have the same or less freedom than the Chinese people.

Doubt this decision came from Bloomberg. He's been pretty hands off of his company the last 12 years as he was Mayor and the company has done very well in his absence.  Bloomberg news is already blocked by China, this is about allowing their journalists to keep their visas(Reuters reporter just got denied entry) and continue reporting in the country which is pretty important for a business news organization.  Not that I support this but I can totally understand it from a business standpoint.

The Chinese government does some pretty shady shiat and it would be nice if it got more coverage.  But as long as there are billions to be made doing business there the government will be able to control it's PR and intimidate companies into keeping quiet.

C'mon you guys, its not like Chinese to do institutionally evil stuff and don't want anybody to know about it. There's no way the largest mass murder in human history or forced live human organ transplants to cover up on prisoners without due process is as bad as it sounds! They're a developing country give them a break on burning 7.7 trillion tons of coal last year, or having more than a billion people and not treating their sewage after 7500 years of civilization. They are simply trying to move humanity ahead, who cares about a few details? Why the West does just the same, and futhermore they had Hitler and can be racist!
