So that's why I feel like shiat.

Don't judge me!

2013-11-09 10:43:55 AM
To paraphrase a summation "You're covered in poop AND you wash too much."
I surrender.

We had issues with staph colonization, so we do our carpets/linoleum surfaces with bleach/water spray or a carpet machine with a bleach water. Clothes and towels also get bleached appropriately, our toilet lids is always down, and we spike our handsoap with Hibicleanse. Skin breaks get treated with betadine. BTW, don't mix chlorhex with bleach residues---irreversable brown stains result.

And yet I have survived this long in good health. Maybe they aren't so harmful after all.

2013-11-09 11:31:36 AM
Yeah, I know. I don't care. The world's a dirty place.

Yale students learned in the beginning of the 2013 school year when they had a problem of students defecating into the laundry machines.

What the hell......

Don't care.  Don't use that hand sanitizer crap, I go for the "build immunity through exposure" theory.

/except daily hair washing.

It's the only way the lizard people can't find me. It's a difficult life... but necessary for survival.

I kept my body perfectly clean and all I got was this lousy non-functioning immune system. :(

Played in dirt as a kid, play in dirt now, plan on dying and either burning or just laying down and being eaten where I fall so I just don't give a shiat.

Ditto. Never touch hand sanitizer, wash my hands less often than I "should". I do shower regularly though, else my hair feels nasty (even though I keep it very short). People are absolutely stupid about hygiene these days IMHO.

I'm pretty sure you'd give worms shiat. Isn't that the whole point?

That does suggest a certain WTF amongst Yalies, doesn't it?

Also, when my brother was serving in Afghanistan back in the mid-2000s, there was a lot of what he euphemistically called "ass-to-mouth" illness going on at a lot of remote FOBs. And typhus, along with other poor-sanitation type syndromes killed a lot of soldiers and civilians in WWII, especially for the Soviets at Stalingrad and the Germans toward the end of the war.

I find it best to share your feces with others. Herd immunity you know. It really is for the best.

yes, spreading your fecal matter around is pragmatically a public service.

Know what ELSE results in irreversible brown stains?

There is such a thing as over sharing.

And if you should find yourself with the overwhelming urge to decorate a public restroom stall just....don't. Go seek help. Or die in a fire. Either one is preferable.

Just this morning I recalled a quote I read from a germ doctor. "The entire world is covered in a thin layer of feces." It was in a story about poop on voting machines.

*ding*

I've been looking for a workable angle to turn the tables and suppress the voter turnout of, let's say, fearful paranoid people.

I've been told by my hippie friends that the icky dirty hair feeling goes away after the oil glands in the scalp readjust. Unfortunately this can take from a few weeks to a few months of less frequent washing. I've never made it past day 3. I just hate the feeling too much.
