Pro-tip: the article gets stupid after page 1. Stop reading there.

(Why yes, I am a professional Wonder Woman wanna-be critic)

I'd rather come for Jennifer Lawrence.

While the fanboy butthurt over a Batman movie serving as a Bennifer reunion would be freaking epic, it ain't gonna happen.

I just hope they don't go with the old, idiotic costume.  You know, the one that looks like grandma's bathing suit now, or skimpy enough to look like a stripper.  Make it look like actual battle gear.  Like this...

I'm not sure I could come for Jennifer Lopez, but I'm fairly sure I could if I got within 5 feet of Jennifer Lawrence.

JLo and JLaw are two different personalities inhabiting the same Wonder Woman body. They constantly bicker about who is going to take charge of the body based on the situation and need to wrestle for dominance.

It's unfortunate that Jaime Alexander is wrapped up in the Thor/Marvel universe.  She's got a good Wonder Woman look to her that's better than any on the list.

except you would need a woman that could convincingly pull off the acting portion.  looks wise Gina would be fantastic, but it would just be cosplay.

putting wonder woman in a movie is a terrible idea.  times have changed and WW does not resonate, especially a female super hero born out of a bondage fetish fantasy.

Yes.

Also, I wish I was more familiar with a wider range of current actressess, so I could come up with a suitable one for the WW role. Unfortunately I don't watch very many TV shows or movies these days, and I don't really seem to know or recognize over half the newer celebs people talk about, especially around here.

Whoever they pick, though, please, please, PLEASE let her look like she can actually whip someone's ass. These 5 foot tall waifs and the like are not gonna cut it. She needs to be relatively tall. And goddamnit she needs some muscle! I'm sorry, but most of the women posted in this thread look like they're barely equipped to pick up something heavier than their purse.

If porn can do a decent Wonder Woman costume, it shouldn't be this difficult for Hollywood.

The original one, yes, I agree.  She was a bubblehead stereotype based on a sick dude's fetish.  But the way she's been reimagined as a badass warrior with a somewhat misguided and unreasonable worldview of men in general, could work.  They just have to avoid the idea of said badass warrior and extremist when it comes to womens' rights parading around in a bathing suit to the delight of all men around her.

If she doesn't look like Linda Carter (in a Linda Carter-like outfit), it's dead on arrival; WB would be better off flushing money down the toilet.  The worst thing they could do is treat their Wonder Woman film vehicle as a Clash of the Titans rip off.  The only way Wonder Woman will be successful as a movie audience character is if the film is a mash-up between the Bourne Identity and Captain America.  Her power level cannot be at Superman levels (like they turned her into in the comic books); she needs to be one step above an Olympic athlete - kinda like the Black Widow (with a skimpier outfit).

The reason "getting WW right" is so hard is because they turned a character that worked (1970s Wonder Woman) into a character that doesn't work (modern day Wonder Woman) in the name of political correctness and feminism.  Changer it back and the character works splendidly.

There is plenty of room for bondage.

That just isn't enough to make wonder woman good.

Hell, go the other direction and just make ww into a softcore tv sex show. They won't succeed with her doing anything else.

I'm sure that looks great airbrushed on the side of your van, but I can't see that working in a live action film.

That said, I kind of wish they'd lay off the live action stuff a bit.  DC's animated films (from the "Wonder Woman" feature to pretty much all of the "Justice League" ones and even the latest "Flashpoint Paradox") have been excellent.  They look good, you can pull off a lot of things you can't in live action without looking hoaky as hell, and since it's animated you don't have that whole uncanny valley effect you get when  you have to CG in actors flying, or explosions or whatever.

Plus, they seem to get WAY better writers for the DC animated pictures.  Spend enough money to lure Paul Dini away from Marvel and that "Planet Hulk" bullshiat and give him and his team the reins to the DC movie productions, live action or animated, and you would be a lot better off.

Well, I'm guessing she'll get a new costume because I can't see that leotard working in a live action film.

According to GIS, here's her at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party (that's a mouthful) in 2013.

www2.pictures.zimbio.com

Yeah, I think she still has the look for it.  Of course, they won't go that route because Hollywood will want some young tart that'll attract the young men and that they can use over and over again for years.  By Hollywood standards, Lucy is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Which is sad, because she's still smoking hot and still looks like she could (and likely would) kick my ass.  I would love to see it, personally.

If they gave her pants, i don't think it would have been that bad.  And the trailer to that movie looks pretty bad ass.  I'm just upset that it won't be out until next year.

Well, THAT was stupid. I'm just going to repeat my suggestion from the other thread, with a different photo.

She's beautiful enough to seem a bit better than human, she's played a Greek warrior woman before, and she has a body. She is also a food, if not exceptional, actress.
