(Statter 911)   Glad they built that fence there or these firefighters might not have been able to stop & help out at the burning apartment building   (statter911.com) divider line 25

Any firetruck stop that you walk away from is a good stop.

Hope the tag is for the brakes because those guys just kept going.

This is one of those things where you go "that just happened",  keep working, and laugh about it in review.   There were apparently people trapped and with that amount of fire showing there's no time to stop.

Looks like they really could have used the ladder truck in that situation. Good thing everyone made it out ok without it.

Vertical video AND missing the moment of impact.  Tag should be for the guy filming.

I love the "What'd he do that fer?"  The natural assumption being, if someone in Tennessee crashes a truck into a fence they did it on purpose and for a specific reason.

I like how people just standing around filming on their phones before the fire dept. gets there instead of seeing how they can help.  I generally hate people, but I'd at least help people from the first floor or something not too dangerous.

So pretty much a vertical video of the parking lot asphalt?

Nice.

The tilting the phone up and letting the autofocus tint the image was annoying me.  Once I get, but to keep doing it was getting old fast.

/the firefighters is the action, the flames is just their goal.

Used live there in my 20s, nice old bldg, built in 1910. $550 a month for 1200 sq ft, hardwood floors, high ceilings, French doors, balconies that overlook a nice courtyard was cool. Can't really tell though, those shots are of the back of the bldg.

Unless you're trying to save your step child, in which case the cop will zap you with a taser.

Knowing some firefighters, my first assumption was that they thought the fence might be in the way of their response, and took care of it. Firefighters have some hilarious stories about "engineering" they do on the scene.

Did anyone notice the ad?

"Do you want to sell a rig? SellFireTrucks.com"

I wonder if the one they just crashed with no breaks will end up on that site?

I doubt it, based on the pictures, the truck wasn't even injured significantly.  Except of course for the whole lack of brakes.

Did the cops cite the truck driver for doing an inadequate equipment check before driving?

Fire Truck Mechanic "Hey Clide whats this part for?"

TFA: "A fire truck responding to the fire lost its brakes and crashed into a fence and concrete barrier. The firefighters, not skipping a beat, jumped out, geared up, and helped out in battling the fire."

Obligatory:
----
One dark night outside a small town, a fire started inside the local chemical plant and in a blink it exploded into flames. The alarm went out to the fire departments from miles around. When the volunteer fire fighters appeared on the scene, the chemical company president rushed to the fire chief and said, "All of our secret formulas are in the vault in the center of the plant. They must be saved. I will give $50,000 to the fire department that brings them out intact."

But the roaring flames held the firefighters off. Soon more fire departments had to be called in as the situation became desperate. The president announced out that the offer was now $100,000 to the fire department who could bring out the company's secret files.

At this point, a lone siren was heard in the distance as another fire truck came into sight. It was the nearby Jewish rural township volunteer fire company, composed entirely of "menchen" over the age of 65. To everyone's amazement, the little run-down fire engine operated by this Jewish fire department passed all the newer, sleek engines parked outside the plant and came to a stop right in the middle of the inferno.

From outside, the other firemen watched as the Jewish old timers jumped off and began to fight the fire with a performance and effort never witnessed before. Within a short time, the seniors had extinguished the fire and saved the secret formulas.

The grateful chemical company president joyfully announced that for such a superhuman feat he was upping the reward to $200,000, and walked over to personally thank each of the brave, though elderly, Jewish fire fighters.

The local TV news reporters rushed in after capturing the event on film asking, "What are you going to do with all that money?"

"Vell," said Morris Goldberg, the 70-year-old fire chief, "the foist thing ve're going to do is fix the brakes on that farshtunkene fire truck!"

What the fark are they suppose to do? Put out the fire with their water bottles? Run into the building with no equipment or training? Seriously what are the suppose to do? Be specific.

i like how you click on the link to watch the video--the second one down--and you get an ad for learning how to drive a truck.

true story--back in my old neighborhood, a garage is on fire.  we lived on a lake.  the truck decides they need to snorkel out of the lake.  driver gets out of the fire truck--and the thing starts rolling backwards.  almost rolled into the lake before they get the thing stopped.
