If you think he's good, you should have seen his older brother Peter.

I assume stubby meant "booger genocide," because "bugger genocide" sounds pretty horrific.

Drop everything you are doing and go read Enders Game right now.

Wiggins is going to score about 500 points just on that spin move alone this year. He'll have to improve it - or at least learn how to go left with it - at the next level, but can imagine him running that against whatever dorky, slow power forward West Virginia is rolling out this year?

Also, if you had the over on number of free throws show by all teams across all games this year, congratulations.

It's going to take this team some time to come together, and I fully expect them to lose by 10-15 to Duke next Tuesday night, but come March? Look out.

The kid is going to be good, but let's not cream our pants over him putting up points against a team that has only won 7 games over the last 2 years and hasn't been over .500 since 06-07.

That was my thinking, but after watching last night....seems like it might be a weird year, with this new "hand check" thing or whatever you want to call it. Maybe the refs will pretty much drop it by conference play, but if they don't, you're going to see a LOT of upsets this year. Big teams used to playing a certain way and piling up fouls early, small programs who shoot 80% from the line as a team...March Madness could be extra crazy this year.

He won't really earn the nickname "Ender" until he's drained at least one game-winning buzzer-beater shot first.

It's only one game, but I would bet money that there will be a record number of people fouling out of games this year. I can't remember the last time I saw a college game with almost a foul every possession.

I guarantee you someone at Deadspin or Big Lead has already started tracking fouls/game.

As a freshman, should we be calling him 'Launchie'?

Meanwhile, Julius Randle went for 23pts and 15rebs.  But he doesnt have a cool name to associate with something for a better headline.  And to think Ender would have almost been his teammate.

And at some point during the season, they'll write an article saying this rule change sucks for the following reasons.  Along with a GIF of someone fouling out due to said rule and the pissed off reaction of the entire bench and fan base.

Someone will eventually tell him these games are real.

Without hand checks and 2nd defender flopping to draw charges, Duke has no defense.

16 points in 34 minutes, 2 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 turnovers against what everyone should expect to be a really crappy third tier team? Look out, Lew Alcindor.

I'm a big Duke fan but I don't agree with you jayhawk88.  Duke has no interior presence: they are a Miami Heat without a Chris Bosh.  So thankful we are not playing Kentucky this year in the Champions Classic, Julius Randal would destroy them.

You don't watch enough Missouri Valley games. The bottom half of that conference is built around drawing fouls.

And since subby called out Andrew Wiggin, figured I need to chime in:

/He would appreciate that.

Wiggins knew what he was doing; compete against the nation's top talent, and maybe not look so good, or get a guaranteed starting spot and build highlight reel footage against the Big XII, the Barry Horowitz of college basketball? I'm sure he'll make some dumpster-diving NBA team a fantastic backup next year, and then fade into obscurity or Europe.

FTFY.
