What a sh*tbag.

You work out a lot. That equates to being fired upon and killed from an elevated position because your idiot leader put you in terrible OP?

Asshole.

It is more dangerous being him. Soldiers in Afghanistan don't need a beard.

I don't want to go out of my way to defend this shiatbag, but I am struck that the article does not have a direct quote of him saying that being an actor is like being deployed to Afghanistan.

I reckon we should trust him.

As a side note, I found myself in downtown Clearwater for several hours today wearing khaki pants and a blue dress shirt, as I was having a job interview in the afternoon and just was killing time.

I totally forgot that is the uniform. Ha, oops, I probably got photographed; it was a great beach day after all but I had stuff to do.

I still fondly remember the first Anonymous protest though; I wandered over and watched from a block over, but then I started getting heckled as a Sea Org goon, so I decided this was too much fun, so I tagged along with the Anonymous parade and chatted with people who were terrified of me and convinced I was in the cult. "No no," I'd reassure them, "I'd surely tell you if I was involved in this insidious cult." And they would stare in horror and flee.

I left that day feeling a lot of sympathy for Scientology for a change. Not that those dimwits deserve it. I once watched a girl make herself disappear in front of me at a stoplight. They are amazing.

Oh Jesus, like none of you ever used a hyperbolic statement like calling someone Hitler or some dumb crap like that.

This is only "news" because a celebrity said so, not because it's something he actually means it.

Scratch that, he didn't even said it, TMZ just constructed a phrase that was never uttered.

So you have (1) let TMZ tell you what to think, (2) act like militaristic mouth-breathers and (3) dedicated brain cells to be outraged for some meaningless blurb a celebrity may or may not have said. Congratulations for playing the game.

Anyone taking TMZ's constant hyperventilations as unvarnished truth is a farktard.

Not saying this stuff is or isn't true.

Not saying Cruise isn't a dick.

Just saying if you 1) get your "news" from TMZ; and 2) actually care what Tom Cruise says, then 3) you're an ass.

Ha, you don't know Scientologists. She totally made herself disappear right in front of me.

As in, she S-L-O-W-L-Y walked so the traffic post was exactly between us so I could no longer see her.

No really, this is what Scientologists actually believe. They are an interesting lot to spend time with.

He is at the top of my c**t list following that quote, and i don't even like war.

Yes Tom being filmed doing running, or just being tom cruise...and getting paid millions of dollars for the privilege, is JUST like being shot at by the taliban....

Over here in Englandshire, we have a tv/radio presenter, who is gay..and used to be a drag queen, called Paul O Grady, and right now his words when interviewed by Alan Carr (another gay man...but not all of our tv presenters are gay, or pedophiles I swear) the other night have never been truer.

"I'd rather have someone (on the show) from Corrie than some Yank. They talk bollocks, basically. And they moan. If I was being paid £15million I would shag a donkey."

Well, to be fair, he didn't say what type of service member in Afghanistan he was comparing himself to.  The Air Force admin specialist who landed at KAF, who's most dangerous moment during their "deployment" was almost getting run over by a van outside of TGI Friday's because they didn't look before crossing the street?  Yeah, his job is probably harder?  A Marine or soldier deployed to the Helmand Province in 2009?  fark that little biatch.

I'm thinking that the local devotees of the Prophet would not warm to L. Ron's message especially well.

Once I realized what she was doing it was hard not to just slowly circle around with her, but they are a rather touchy lot and they have a LOT of security around. But yeah, I worked right around the Ft. Harrison for years and just couldn't help but poke around sometimes.

This was a long time ago, like 2004-5. Back in those days I would ask the guys in charge of handling the public (oh they have a lot of them), so wow! I can't wait to see that new Super Power building open up! When's that date exactly? And they would get weird and nervous and that completely confused me as I just thought it was a pretty innocent answer.

Well, it's 2013, and they are opening next year, they promise, cause they have a big tent up.

2013-11-09 06:50:00 AM
Today they did have one cute little blonde Sea Org girl out in front of it pulling up vines though. I noticed she was there for hours. So was I, but I was playing Plants vs zombies 2 on the phone and drinking, not pulling up vines.

I will say Scientology does manage to attract its share of pretty women, which is not a nice thought about pretty women.

I'm sorry, but this article is retarded and people responding to the headline as if that is Tom Cruise's stance are being equally retarded.

He never said his job is more dangerous than being a soldier.
He never said his job is more difficult than being a soldier.

A lawyer made a comparison and Tom agreed.

Here is what Tom Cruise ACTUALLY said:
That's what it feels like

In response to the media running the story, the lawyer said:  '...the analogies were being taken out of context.'

When asked directly if those situations were really comparable, he said, 'Oh, come on.'
Of course they aren't.  And he isn't claiming they are.

"Fields continued that a video of the deposition shows Cruise and his lawyers were laughing at his answer."

Tom says he's only flown commercial ONCE in the last 4 years

Is this supposed to be scandalous?  No one would ever fly commercial if they had the means to avoid it.

Here is the actual text.....

Q:  'Now, your counsel has publicly equated your absence from Suri for these extended periods of time as being analogous to someone fighting in Afghanistan.  Are you aware of that?'
F (One of Tom's Lawyers): Object to the form of the question.  You may answer.
Q:  'Yeah, you can answer'
Tom Cruise:  'I didn't hear the Afghanistan, but that's what it feels like, and certainly on this last movie, it was brutal.  It was was brutal.

Exactly. He wasn't even comparing his work to the soldiers work, just agreeing to an analogy that equates the family separation between deployed soldiers and an actor making a movie away from their family. In his case is worse since he no longer has custody of Suri and thus can't take her with him on his journeys like he probably did when he and Kat were married.

BUT OMG TOM CRUISE SAID HE HAS IT HARDER THAN SOLDIERS, LETS OUTRAGE!!

Thanks for living up to the lowest common denominator, Farkers. LOL.

2013-11-09 07:19:01 AM
I mean, in his case compared to other actors who still live with their kids, like Brad Pitt. Not compared to a soldier, who obviously can't take their kids to the warzone.

I am unsure how Scientology is going to keep getting members after it has become common knowledge about Xenu (remember, before the internet, that was TOP SECRET and no one knew that story until they paid tens of thousands of dollars.

It seems to me, anyway, that Scientology is going the Blockbuster route, and completely ignoring reality because it's worked so well so far.

I don't think I'll outlive Scientology, but I bet my nieces will.

Their members count has been dropping in an alarming rate. The "church" methodically lies about their actual members count and for good reason.

Plenty of crazy, stupid nonsense is known about all major religious movements and yet, they still attract new followers.  Why should Scientology be any different?
