WhyKnot: Clearly his costume would have been more appropriate if the would have jut gone as a white dude with a Mohawk and chains.   His costume would have sucked, but as least a few people in the community and on the internet wouldn't find insensitive.

Maybe just maybe we have taken being politically correct too far.

Yeah, he could have been.....

skinink: I think the costume is funny. Can't see how he is trying to offend or racially stereotype by his actions. Not the smartest of costumes during this time of thin skinned people.

You don't understand! White people can only ever dress up as other white people. If they dress up as a member of some other culture, it's demeaning! It's racist! Forget about about "black face" and all that; just putting on the garb of another culture is racist. If you are white and dressing up as a specific member of a culture, even an antiquated one, you are a racist! Shame on you for being white!

Also, I came across this and laughed:

Truther: Will we keep slipping further into a world of more and more political correctness?

Vector R: Sadly, because the PC rules surrounding this are utterly retarded,

AngryDragon: Tribalism and political correctness gone wild.

"Political Correctness" = backward whiteguyspeak for "WAHHHHHH! I don't get to say or do the dumb sh*t I used to! I have to actually think before I act! I have to realize that other people don't think as I do! I have to actually try not to be an asshole! THIS IS HARRRRRRRD!"

I have to side with the people who think that the real Mr. T would be amused by this.  So they guy was too white and too "fool"ish to actually portray Mr. T.  When you're the ultimate badass and someone dresses up like you for Halloween, and looks silly doing so, do you care that he's not appropriately pigmented as well?  I wouldn't care.  The ultimate badass doesn't need to care about this sort of thing, it's beneath his notice.

Say some poser dressed up as you, not mocking, but obviously because they thought you were cool, and you know you could kick their butt into next year, would you really be offended?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

SirEattonHogg: seventypercent:  If Mr. T was alive today, I'd like to think that he would have liked this costume.

Mr. T died?  When was this?

Mr. T is dead. So is Barzini. Phillip Tattaglia. Moe Greene. Stracci. Cuneo. The heads of all the Five Families. Today I settled all family business so don't tell me that Mr. T is alive, because it insults my intelligence. Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

The only real problem I see here is that the guy wasn't smart enough to realize that painting yourself black is almost never seen in a positive light and that someone at school would complain about it. It wasn't done to be offensive or malicious, but as someone in his position of authority, he's supposed to think about all the potential butthurt that could result from any given action he and others make. The smart thing would've been to go without black facepaint or to just choose another costume. It's unfortunate that even the non-maliciously intended costumes like this offend people, but it doesn't take a brain scientist to realize that if you're the vice-principal of a school it's probably not a good idea to paint yourself black as part of a costume, given that history almost solely associates this with blackface, which is considered to be racist and offensive.

That said, I think that they should just give him a warning to use better common sense in the future and let it go. This wasn't done with the intent to harm, but the guy should've known better.

Mr. T is a character.
Mr. T was always an act.
Mr. T was not supposed to be a real person.
... or LIKE a real person.
He is a character... like Spiderman or Ichabod Crane or Condor Man.
Dressing up as Mr. T for Halloween means nothing.
It not at all the same thing as dressing up as Travon Martin... a private individual.
The only people that have any business being upset about a Mr. T costume are the people who were already legitimately upset about the Mr. T character as played by Laurence Tureaud.
In other words, the only people who have any business being upset by a Mr. T costume are humorless retards.
I pity the fools.
