Twilight Farkle: [imgs.xkcd.com image 473x541]"Questionable encryption techniques" is an understatement akin to describing me as slightly inebriated, Bill Gates as financially secure, or Adobe as computationally secure.

Gig103: I wish I could remember what password I used for this so I know which ones to change. Anyone remember if Adobe had strict rules on passwords (did it have to have capitals, numbers etc)?
Mad Scientist: Is Adobe a scandal yet?
PC LOAD LETTER: Basically everyone, yeah? Luckily mine was a throwaway password for accounts I didn't give a shiat about. They now have access to about 50 accounts logins I really don't give a damn about and mostly forgot about and can always reregister. And I never had my CC on file with them. They have my address, but they can come and get me. Not much ID theft gonna happen there.I pirated Adobe products every time previously. I went legit for a variety of reasons. I should have kept pirating.
Triumph: What the hell is Photoshop's main competition, anyway? From a brand standpoint, it's like Band-Aids, Kleenex and Q-tips.
Mike_LowELL: This is why you need a strong password of at least six non-repeating characters. Using a dictionary usually works the best.
ryarger: Thanks for the tip! I just switched all my passwords to "a dictionary". I assume the repeating vowels don't count, right?
GreenSun: This is why I don't like it when software developers force you to make an account just to be able to use their stuff. This happens in games, programs, and almost everything these days. You hand them your real personal information (so that it matches the credit card you used to pay) and then you risk having your information stolen from the company.Selling software should revert back to the old style of just letting people buy their stuff from stores and letting them use the program without having to be connected online. Online DRMs are a pain in so many ways that it has the potential to kill productivity (and get someone in trouble).I bet people would be checking the stolen list for e-mails that look like they come from the government or any other important/popular group/people.
Chinchillazilla: And people who were too lazy to pirate it and just got GIMP instead.
Bucky Katt: This is bad isn't it?
Phil Moskowitz: Mad Scientist: Is Adobe a scandal yet?Adobenghazi
ChubbyTiger: Granted, I didn't register with anything reassembling my real information, but still.

skozlaw: HotIgneous Intruder: everyone in this countryAre you aware that the world continues outside of America's borders?[images.wikia.com image 500x328]Twilight Farkle: "Questionable encryption techniques"Now, now. Be fair. They didn't expose any passwords with their "technique". Just enormous, glaring, screaming hints to them in many cases./ how much do you want to bet that north of 2/3 of all those password records have block sizes of 1?
PainInTheASP: "Adobe says the perpetrators likely picked up "many invalid Adobe IDs, inactive Adobe IDs, Adobe IDs with invalid encrypted passwords, and test account data" "Test account data? Invalid IDs? IDs with invalid passwords? Guys, admitting you suck at database administration does not make the situation better.
TNel: So if you had a strong password this is a non issue right? I think I used my strong one for the adobe account.
Wulamoc: TNel: So if you had a strong password this is a non issue right? I think I used my strong one for the adobe account. Why does this thread seem that no Farkers utilize password safes? I woulda thought this crowd would have been a little more keen about that kinda thing.
