Absolutely phenomenal.

They aren't going anywhere. And globalization has already met them, you're just fooling yourself when you think they are somehow pristine and it's a shame that they aren't preserved like that.

We're all going somewhere: at about 1,000 mph around the sun. Not sure the point of your post. Nothing is pristine nor preservable, long-term.

They're jumping?

Also I like how that website just uses PHP to dynamically stick a watermark on their pictures. It makes it even easier to steal than normal

Though yeah, snark about the gauchos aside, some of these pictures are very cool.

I've actually studied the Yanomami, so I'm getting a kick....

But seriously, somebody tell me wtf is up with the Dani in Papua New Guinea.  They make Yanomami sex mores look Puritan....

If a solar flare or something wipes out all the infrastructure our lives depend on, it'll just be another day for these guys.

That's pretty much the only thing that could save them from being completely assimilated into the modern world eventually.

I would be willing to wager that the girl pictured who isn't large and tattooed is the one you're referring to... and I'd also be willing to wager you should have a seat over there, if so.

I particularly like how the rest of the tribe members closely study whoever is hopping. You just know they argue long into the night about what makes a good hop.

Yes preserve a 50% infant mortality rate, preserve an average life expectancy of 20, preserve the oldest maybe reaching 40 years old just so some scientists can study them. All you "We must preserve their way of life." types are just cruel.

Not nearly as annoying as know-it-alls who are most likely wrong, though.

These have to be fake. They're not wearing failed championship tee-shirts.

She's definitely attractive, but I would be too scared to lay eyes on her should I ever visit her tribe. Some of those Maori's look like they could kill me as easy as swatting a fly.

Yeah, about 70,000 mph (2pi * 1AU =~ 6.28 AU/365 days = 0.017AU per day/24 hours =  0.0007AU per hour = 66,640 mph).  Of course, if you add in the speed of the sun moving through the galaxy, it's about 500,000 mph extra.  Then, if you add in the speed that the galaxy is moving about, that's another 1,300,000 mph or so.

I remember all of them well.  University of Maryland, College Park Mechanical Engineering graduates, 1984.  I can't say their names but I sure can beat them out with a drum.

It's just like Warren Miller said about skiing down a mountain: how do you know if the other guy is having more fun than you? And should you even care?
