Nope. Damnit, subby, here I wanted a laugh.

If you're living, you're living sustainably. Stupid hippies.

/Brunswick is a great town btw

So they are closing their store to be more sustainable, but their customers will become less sustainable?

Selfish, thinking of themselves instead of society as a whole.

Hippies are really fun to watch and laugh at.  Kind of like the monkeys at the zoo

Don't insult monkeys.

My thoughts as well. Seemed to me the real reason they closed was

we were exhausted

If only there was some way to convince someone to help them out with their business.

The article suggestions at the bottom are a bit... jarring. Raping sleeping friends, bathtub post-birth shootings, yeesh!

Screw it, I'm gonna go live of the land. This Internet thing is exhausting.

But in an ironic twist, Corie Washow and Rob Schulz said the workload of running the place was forcing them to ignore their own eco-friendly values.

That is a pretty bold admission to outright say eco-friendly values are incompatible with economic activity.

Being too tired to work doesn't seem very... sustainable

Well, the KKK live what they believe, and I laugh at them, too.

dascott: I bet their farts smell TERRIFIC

They fart into jars to preserve the methane. It's more green that way.

That wouldn't have been sustainable, either.

Well they could hire these mysterious people tha, for some odd reason, come to their place of business and work for them in return for a fair compensation. I think ones like those are called "helpful cash happy people"

My business turns a profit and is thus sustainable. How can I market this to hippies?

Above: Corie Washow and Rob Shulz plan to shutter up their shop and drive to the country where
they plain to subsist on fava beans and smug.  "I'll do the farming" says Rob, "and Corie will do her
part by installing solar panels made from recycled six-pack rings on her fivehead."

Not surprising.  "Sustainable living" runs directly counter to God's Holy Plan.

Wait till they realize that living off the land isn't as easy as it sounds. Planting a vegetable garden is easy enough, but not only would it take one huge plot of land to sustain a family, but aside from your standard vegetables you also have to be able to grow crops like wheat, corn, soybeans and do it all organically without fertilizers and pesticides. You would also have to raise your own livestock if you truly want to live that way. If he works full time then she's hardly going to be able to do all that herself. I give them a year before they're both working 9-5 living like the rest of us.

I just had to endure a storewide commercial at the grocery today about Giant's new sustainable idea to put a sustainable logo on their certified sustainable products so that you know the sustainability is sustainable in order to enjoy a more sustainable life of sustainability while sustaining sustainableness. Whoever developed that ad deserves a cock-punch.

Dragonflew: Someone didn't read the article.

So, the usual farkery.

Again: we need some sort of system for punishing stupid subbies. Enough of people writing incorrect headlines on articles they barely scanned, just so they can be "first" to submit the link. IDGAF how many articles you've had accepted; get your Farking headlines right.

Yeah, it's called a j...o...b.  Very detrimental to those type.

All life is unsustainable, by definition.

It takes two officers to tell people "Stay away from the killer bees".

You don't exactly have a skilled labor force huh chief?

Reminds me of when the local "Successories" shop at the mall went out of business. Not enough inspirational posters, I guess.

You, however, seem to be running a ship shape operation on your end.

About the same as your boss has.

We find you amusing too.  Kind of like the zoo rats that live on the tourist garbage.

So people try to base an entire lifestyle out of a quasi-meaningless phrase?

2013-11-08 09:35:03 AM
"We hoped we could find a way to live sustainably at home and have a sustainable business," Washow said, "and a small business is very much a lifestyle in and of itself. Both of these things take a lot of time and focus, and between our two little brains, we couldn't make that work."

If your two little brains couldn't figure out that sustainability is a myth, then you breathing our air isn't sustainable.

Did you know that in New Hampshire it's the inmates who make the "Live Free or Die" license plates?
